As promised here attached some pictures of the progress of the great MAN-TGA-XXL.
I will update the project regularly and all your comments are welcome.
This is one of my first models and I have a lot to learn

Just curious as to which final model you will be building. Is it similar to this one?

The one I'm building is more the tractor unit MAN-TGA-XXL 8x4 something like this model

Wheels are now finished.

1. One wheel
2. Double wheels
3. A lot of wheels

Good looking wheels. Is model going to be white, (I have seen many models in white), or painted afterwards.

This model will be paper white. I am just discovering the magic of paper work and at this stage I feel colors will be distracting.
However I am now indulging with some colors for the registration plates and some warning stripes typical in this type of vehicles.

White models are great for demonstrating the model and technique. I understand wholly.

Recent progress:
Energy rack, including fuel tank, oil tank, air tanks, air filters, cooler, control panel and additional aggregates.
(Almost everything paper white)

Adding components to the frame

Among finishing details I have to made side mirrors.
For fixing them to the frame I need some kind of brackets. I decided therefore to made tests for some different size of tubes in order to find the most suitable.
For this test I've used gummed cigarettes paper rolled on needle of various diameter.
The pictures are showing some of the results.
1. Wooden toothpick of 1.9 mm. made a tube of 2.2 mm.
2. SS needle of 0.8 mm. made a tube of 1.0 mm.
3. SS needle of 0.55 mm. made a tube of 0.7 mm.
For the brackets I will use tube number 2, i.e. 1.0 mm.
Compared to their size all tubes seem strong and very precise.
I pass this information as paper tubes can be very useful in a variety of models.

Now my model is completed.
It is long 364 mm. and the total weight is 124 grams.
I will now clean my desk and made plans for the next model.

Is this something you just did for yourself or are you going commercial or releasing plans? it's almost like saying "Good-Bye" to this wonderful model?!?

To Zathros.

The model I just finished is designed by Chriess and can be free downloaded from the net together with other outstanding models for example at http://jleslie48.com/nosport/index.html.
I have diligently follow the design's instructions with only few and secondary details on my own. Therefore the author deserves all the credits.
As next project I'm tempted to made the Chriess low loader. It will go very well attached to the MAN-TGA-XXl just completed.
But this is only training for what I consider the best of Chriess models: the mobile crane Liebherr LTM 1300, which I will start as soon I feel ready.
I count therefore to offer a lot more to follow.

You know, I thought that model was familiar, but didn't put it together with jleslie's site? I have never seen anyone build it. Seeing the model being built by you, and seeing bigger pictures was really an eye opener. I thank you for posting the build. I look forward to your next model.

My next project will be a low loader for my just completed truck.
Also this trailer is designed by Chriess It's made with only 400 parts vs. 475 parts of the truck. It's supposed to be simpler but just as nice.
Pictures are showing the real stuff, but mine will be much smaller and paper white.
I soon will start printing parts & instructions.
