Lysander Mk III (‘‘Lizzie‘‘)

Here she is, the Lizzie, again free to download on my website www.bobscardmodels.com . I was immediately attracted to this WWII plane for 3 reasons:

1. The ladder with white-painted rungs, to aid quick boarding at night by agents, in Occupied France,
2. The fact that only 15km away, is the field on which Flight-Lieutenant John Bridger DFC flying the plane with the registration V9367, during the night of 19-20 March 1943, clandestinely dropped the French hero, Jean Moulin, as well as General Derestraint, and Christian Pineau. This plane is dedicated to all these courageous men, who in part, until torture and death, fought for their country.
3. It’s just a lovely plane!
I’m taking a rest now, until something again attracts me.

BOB YOU RULE!!!! This is one of my all time favorite planes for the reasons you mention and the fact that in the right conditions, she could go backwards and still be flying!! This plane could drop people in and take them out, in the middle of heavily defended areas, so silent, and agile, with a great load capacity, British engineering at it's best. Thank You BOB, Thank You!!

I just checked out your new Lysander, Bob - beautiful job! Definitely in my must build list. I hope to begin your Bristol Blenheim soon. The lines on the file were quite choppy, so I'm in the process of redrawing them using Photoshop. I'll be building it in 1/72 scale - my favorite size. Thank you for your designs.

Bob, you are one of the most generous and talented designers on the Web. I am inspired by you. :)

Thanks, both of you. Yes, when I take a re-look at the Bristol Blenheim, I see that the lines are quite choppy - one of my earliest models when I had still not tried out Photoshop, and usef only MSPaint. I keep on telling myself to re-do the older ones, but haven't got round to it yet.
Greetings
Bob

I have a plastic kit from this plane, and the amazing thing is that looks allmost identical to this. Same details, same great bodylines. Love this plane.

That what happens when you make an accurate model, they all start to look the same!! This is the case with Bob's models. They look like what they model!

Zathros, I'm blushing. But seriously, I've now bought a foam Canadair CL-415 kit, 1300mm wingspan, so I'm putting paper models on the backburner. It's all so new, what with ESC's (speed controllers ) etc etc. and I am terrified I am going to crash the thing in the middle of a lake. Will have to send the wife swimming, to rescue the CL-415.

Believe it or not, I had a rubber raft when I did R/C as the designated "official" spot was by a small pond. I never had to use it, but some of the guys that did R/C boats borrowed it a lot. I have an inexpensive V-tailed electric plane I got for my son, to teach him R/C, much cheaper than the .60 size engines I used to fly (4 foot wingspan) stick plane, that cost as much as a small used motorcycle.

I bet a lot of your models could be made to fly using foam wings and micro controllers. You could use some of your models as plugs for molds too. ARMORMAN is a pro at doing that kind of stuff.

Bob, for years I have been of the opinion that you set a standard in this Hobby with your generosity and variety of models. That's just fact!! I am very happy that you post in this forum and hope you very as welcome as you are. I'd love to see pics of your R/C plane too! :)
