Would you play a game with paper miniatures?

Add me to the list of folks who would totally play with paper minis. I like the prepainted plastic kind, but can't justify the expense at this point.
it saves me money on buying plastic figures and they are quicker to build!only problem is that the quality isn't as good as that professional feel to the plastic ones you buy in the hobby shops for ridonkulous prices!wall1
I do. In fact, some of them I get reactions of, "That's paper?!" and "Dude, that's sick! Make me one!".
I'm actually designing a game that would be played with paper miniatures based on the Talespin universe. I've already got a Seaduck, and am working on the Pirate Fighters and Iron Vulture. :mrgreen:

I have never been one to play board games, but of course, that has never stopped my or inhibited in anyway playing with the models I build. Having an 11 year old son makes it even easier, and I don't look quite as silly, except to my wife, who sees right through it!

I play games with paper miniatures often and here is a little secret. 90% of the models I use in miniature games such as warhammer, flames of war and others are my own as proxies or stand-ins.
I take the advantage that at first glance many mistake them as the real thing.

One could always take a miniature paper models and rig it so when you're attacked, the thing bursts into flame. That would bring some realism to the game!

Wow, I didn't know that gaming was done to that extreme. I guess you mostly have to play outside. this is opening up a whole new world to me. I guess eye protection is required. Cool!
Yep. Me and my friends have played this game for years, almost annually. No eye protection is required; we just use ordinary black cats and ground blooms. It's a lot of fun and pretty safe, though we keep a fire extinguisher and a bucket of water handy just in case.
i would,i have made one dreadnought so far, and plan on making more for the warhammer universe.( now i just have to find people close by to play with wall1 ). as for the fireworks when i was a kid me n my cousin did the smae with GI Joes n gasoline thrown in for bigger booms. was all fun n games till we lit the mountain on fire. had 4 different fire stations to put it out took all weekend, burnt 40 acres.yes , we got in trouble bigtime.
I'd definitely use paper vehicles, but I think I'd stick to plastic/metal infantry. I'm a painter more so than a gamer, but I don't enjoy painting vehicles as much as infantry (and don't get me started on GW's prices these days). I think it would be a good balance this way.
