Billy! That's a great link. I specially like the weathering a lot. Most weathering I see on models are over kill. It really not easy to replicate weathering to make it looks right. I am so taking not on that. Thanks again.

Coming late to this discussion, and seeing the photos found by Billy Leliveld for the first time (here in a Google translated version: http://translate.google.com/transla...1&u=http://igor113.livejournal.com/51213.html) I must say these are among the most remarkable photos I've seen.

Please note that there are three full pages:

All this rust and decay reminds me very much of that sci-fi genre where everything has ground down to a stop and only rusting remnants are left, nature slowing taking over. Very scary. And strangely beautiful in its own way.

Hey Billy!! Nice to see you and thanks for this link, I will download it and add it to my archive. Many Thanks my friend. :)

Zathros (and All), Was looking on The Mother of All Maritime Links and saw one for WIGS, Wings in Ground Effect. The banner shows the aircraft you're working on. The link is www.se-technology.com/wig/index Enjoy!!!!

BTW, on the Mother pages, there is a model section with paper models. Also plans for various boats. Ideas for future models?

There are many places and sources for these craft. A lot have them all wrong, and some over exaggerate their capabilities but somewhere in there, lies the capability for a unique and capable family of craft.

You could always enlarge that model, which is by a very close friend of mine STRK, by either printing in on a large format printer, or resizing it in Photoshop and re-arranging the parts. It is a really nice model, I have one. He is a brilliant designer.

I always thought the large Ekranoplans were pretty neat looking, very Gerry Andersonish. Particularly liked the Caspian Seam Monster.

I know what you mean but Gerry Anderson's stuff belonged in a universe that relied heavily on lack of knowledge and imagination of youth. The Ekranoplans relied on hard core science. If there had not been the political infighting within the Communists government, there woulds have been a fleet of those A90's and with the instrumentation, navigation, and general advancement of computer technology, the would have been a formidable weapon, especially in the anti-submarine warfare arena. Their day may not yet be over. Their look makes good aerodynamic sense, if you understand aerodynamics. Their load bearing, and fuel efficiency, especially of the A90, in ground effect, is incredible. :)
