Incredible Babylon 5 Models

Thank you AMORMAN for this link. There are some incredible Babylon 5 models
at this site. 3 different Star Fury's, Omega Class Destroyer, and a ThunderBolt, and textures for different liveries. They are High quality models in .PDO format. My Norton came up with a warning about the site, but Norton always does that when it goes to an unfamiliar site, I scanned the files and nothing was in there except the models. I also ran various cleaners after visiting the site. I do this every time I get off of the internet anyways. These are the models you've been waiting for. There are also a lot of other models there. The site needs some exploring, for sure.

Be careful what you click. i have found if you pass your mouse over the file name (in Russian) you will see the file come up on the lower right of our screen in English. That software is a "download accelerator", I think, which, not wishing to disparage a site that gives away such beautiful models, I would not recommend doing. I wish we had someone here who spoke fluent Russian who could help us out with this stuff. Google Translate is great, but i find a lot of the "Download" functions do not work, so I run the pages , one on each monitor, and figured it out from there.

Using Firefox, I got no adds, pop ups, or anything, for that matter, except the models.

I thought I would rebuild the Agamemnon. But as I tried to open the "a" -files, "omega page1a", "omega page2a" and "omega page3a", Pepakura Viewer says "File does not exist".
Other files open just fine.

I just opened mine, it's all there. There are some files marked 1a, 2a, 3a, that doesn't have anything in them the but rest of the files seem too have the whole model. You might want to try to download it again.

The files that can be opened do not include for example any of the antennas in the front or the small parts along the sides. The parts for the lower-half of the front section are missing etc. But the instructions show these parts. That's why i assumed that there's something wrong with the "a"-files.

Hey guys, I figured out what is happening...

The letter "a" is actually a similar letter in Russian, which our Westerns computers cannot understand.

Just extract the files and rename the ones that did not work, replacing the original Russian "a" by another letter (you can even type the "a" letter, it will work because it is the Western "a" letter, not a similar Russian one)

;)

About the models themselves, they seem to be extracted from a game, without much cleaning.

The Starfury model still has some intersecting parts, which will be hard to correct...

Nice! I pulled those down just to have them archived for when I can get the time.
Thanks for the excellent link, those are VERY nice models. And since I was always a fan of the Amiga in the day, Babylon 5 was a biggie in my life (Can you say "Rendering Farms"?)!! :)
BTW, with FFox, I just right click the link and open a new tab instead of another window.

DUDE!! YOU RULE!! I was going to try renaming it but being old and feeble minded, I didn't follow through!
So, this fix is verified, works, and a hardy Thank You Sir!:thumb:

I really enjoy how people here so readily help each other out. That is something that rules about this forum!

For you guys who decide to build, PLEASE post lots and lots of build pics, don't worry if someone else is building the same model. It can teach others (me) how to work out threw in hiccups. Thanks, a lot!!

When i tried to open those files by opening them through file browser (right-click - open with...) there was actually a very quick flash of some error message in Pepakura, something about invalid filepath but i forgot to investigate it.
Oh well, renaming works. Thanks! Now i just need more ink :)

I had to go pick up my kid at school when I tried to open the file and saw the file path problem. By the time I got back, "shiftdel" had sorted it all out, Frakkin great!!
