Has anyone tried to make a model of V.I.N.C.E.N.T from Disney's movie The Black Hole? It is one of my all time favorite SciFi robots. I tried to design one myself; but my designing skills are sadly lacking. I've found almost all of the models on my wish list EXCEPT this one.

I remember seeing one of those somewhere. It was many years ago. I hope it hasn't fallen into the "Black Hole"!

Easy fix. Just build a Vincent model and give it to the cat for a minute or two.
In a pinch, a dog or toddler could work too. hahaha

On a more serious note, if anyone know where some decent references for these bots are, I will give them a go. They have been on my to-do list but very far down. Can't get high-res images or the most important: -schematics-anywhere...

Oh man, now that is a difficult task. I've looked for good reference images for them and failed. Maybe someone else will have better luck? By the way, If you do design these models, I'm sure they will be fantastic. Your models are amazing!

I'd build Max or the Cygnus. Even as a kid I thought Vincent was an R2D2 ripoff. But then again, Max has got the Darth vibe with cool "ginsue" attachments.

I would like to build a Yvette Mimieux model, they did her hair really weird in that movie but in reality, they would have never made it to the black hole, or left!:p:twisted:

WOW! I'd hit that...I mean build that too.

I agree whit both of your points. Even as a kid I thought the BH was pretty hard to swallow, especially the ending.

Well, you start with a title like "The Black Hole", not too good. If you saw a movie called "The Tub drain", you might be , "hesitant', or, "the toilet flushes", "the wind doesn't blow, it sucks"., these are not good omens. They called it, A beautiful women stuck in Space with 4 guys who we completely unaware", a coming of age story. They could have done more with what they had. It wasn't that bad, actually, the last time I saw it, at the insistence of my 11 year old, I started cheering for the robot Max. I could understand why he was so pissed off. :)

this of course is just in fun, "The Black Hole" can be credited with trying to keep Science Fiction afloat, that has to count for something.

Funny you should say "keeping science fiction afloat" I remember an reading something a long time ago atalking about how Disney put the U.S.S. Cygnus in a pool to do the zero gee effects for the space shots.

Yeh, it was a real stinker. But hey, it was Disney's first attempt at a PG film. I remember when I saw it, I had to work really hard to keep my suspension of disbelief intact (a struggle that I lost badly by the way). Imagine what that movie could have been if done with a better, harder edged script, better acting, and better effects.
