Hi. I have the opportunity to introduce the final version of THE X-wing Imcold is working on. Everybody knows that this is the best paper model of an x-wing on www an I can only confirm this well kown information :p
It is not the easiest ( not for me at least) one , but believe me - you´ll get the most accurate shape and texture (maybe better than the origial :D ) you can imagine ...

I'm happy to see this over here so I can comment on it (here). I think it's friggin' awesome! To be honest, having an 11 year old, I getting a little Star Wars "burnout" but this is really refreshing.:thumb:

Guys , thank a lot.. We really appreciate your kind words , but you are a little bit exaggerated :) it is only a paper model . :) But if you mean it seriously - better for us :D Nevertheless there are a lot of more complicated and sophisticated models all around this forum ...

Thanks again

Hi guys, the model can be downloaded here:http://imcold.evilhosting.org/web/xwing/ X-wing paper model
I'm still working on the instructions, fuselage and laser cannon instructions will be uploaded later today or tomorrow, wings will come later. Comments&criticisms welcomed. Also, I still don't have any photo of completed final version of the model, I will add it to the page as soon as someone finishes the whole model and sends me a photo.

You have a bright future ahead of you. Just make sure when you get out of school, you move to an area where people of your talent work. Sometimes people think that with the Internet, it doesn't matter. Society has not come that far, yet, it never may.

When I try to download the PDF for the fuselage instructions I get a 404 Error message (all the other links work fine.) Does anyone else have this problem?

Zahtros: I certainly hope so!
MTK: If you do, could you please let me know if they print out fine? I don't have any printer of that format to test it on
cblf49: It's fixed now, thanks for the heads-up!

Wauw...this is a x wing.
i found many x wings on the net...but this one looks GREAT.

Every day i see more more papercraft...one greater than the other..
This is the BEST papercraft x-wing i have seen so far!!

i will download it to my paper-treasure-stick for the time i have a little spare time .

how thick is the recomended paper?..
or do i have to reinforce the fuselage/wings?

And what will be the size when printed on a4/letter?
whoops found it. 27.5 cm

Thanks to the maker!

I recommend 100-120gsm paper (~0.15mm thick). The parts that need to be thicker have the recommended thickness marked next to their part number (mostly).

Today everything printed..
on A1
now the x wing should become 70cm long :)
just a little bigger then a studioscale x wing.
only the paper is just 80gsm

so i need the make it with a lot reinforcement parts
But when it would become the same as the x wing on the pictures (site)
i. very VERY happy.

But how do you reinforce the wings so that they stay up?

Well, that will be bigger by almost 1/3 compared to studio scale, that's scary :D You'll have to do some serious reinforcing & it's probably a good idea to seal the paper with some sort of lacquer to prevent warping by moisture before you even start working with it.
The wings are cross-connected, if you put some weights in the lower ones, the wings will stay opened wide. They also have an internal frame, so they shouldn't warp.
