Can't say I've ever seen it out there, but that would make a cool model!

Doesnt even look anything like Jules vernes classic even if you completely disregard disneys ideas!

I prefer the version from the comics, with its squid and whale motif. I think the Black Dossier had instructions for an origami Nautilus, unless it was Volume II...

Can't find it right now, but there is a website that shows all the versions of the Nautilus.
I kinda like the LOEG version, keeping it separate from the disney sub.

One further note on this design....especially if you have seen the movie, "league of extrordianary gentlemen". Read the Verne classic, "Mysterious island". It goes into Captain Nemos history far more than Vernes original or for that matter Disneys classic. The league movie accurately shows and perpetuates the story line of captain Nemo being of Indian descent, a prince as a matter of fact, something that the "Mysterious Island" goes into great detail about. The Mysterious Islands illustrations, of which only one show the nautilus, shows it also as verne described and as Mr. Ron Miller has further researched and developed, later designed and built as a paper model by heinkel models. Unfortunately, or fortunately if this concept excites you...the League folks created an "Extraordinary" model to coincide with a extraordinary plot line! All very interesting if Verne is your thing, like myself!

Hey Mike, nice to see you posting. I found the accurate portrayal of Jules Verne to be pretty cool, and quite over-passed in any review I have ever seen, except yours!!:thumb:
