Hi!

I have a bunch of Athearn Blue Box Ready to Run pieces of Rolling Stock. When did they make these?

I have a picture of one below.

Many thanks, Ted

Ted,
I love old Athearn cars. I pretty much began my HO collection back in the early 1960s with Athearn car kits.

There is an excellent and very complete photo collection of all Athearn cars (and many other manufacturer's cars) in the following website: http://www.hoseeker.net/

You will not only find photos of the cars, but you can also view early Athearn catalogs as well as other manufacturer's catalogs in the 'Literature' section. Quite a few assembly instructions are also provided there, and I'll have to admit that I have had to search for some instruction sheets that were missing in old kits that I am finally trying to put together.

I've been in the HO train hobby forever (since around 1956); and, in 2016 I scanned all my structure kit boxtops and instructions (I always save them after building) and sent them to the http://www.hoseeker.net/ site. My stuff alone added about 45% size to the site. If you couldn't find an HO structure back then, you probably can now! My scans labeled "collection of Swamp Daddy"; took many weeks scanning some every day. That is the site for finding data on HO items of the past. Hoping my oldies stuff will help some modern modeler.

have fun all, Swamp Daddy :King:

Again, this thread is 7 years old, and quite dead. Think, 3 months or less, only, any older, don't post in it. :)
