First Build

Hello, as a bit of a newbie to the pepakura world, I'm hoping to start on some projects next year. I'm hoping to start on some helmets (halo or whatever) and was wondering if anyone has any advice on a good relatively easy project to ease myself gently into the world of Pepakura. Ultimately I'd like to end up building an iron man suit.

Thanks,

Jooshman

Welcome aboard. Before you have access to the free downloads, you must post at least 10 viable postings. After that, go hog wild and enjoy what is available. As for Iron Man suit, there are a few out there for the making, this one comes to mind. http://papercraft-heroes.com/2010/07/iron-man-mark-iv-suit-papercraft/ When you start to build it, do not forgrt to post some photos here as well for us to enjoy your works. Enjoy and see you around the forums.

Well, since Pepakura isn't a modeling program, you need to find a good, easy-looking model to unfold on Google's Sketchup gallery. This should give you enough experience unfolding to attempt a complex shape like the Stormtrooper helmet.

For modeling, I suggest trying Metasequoia. It's a free program that is well-suited for paper models.

I used to work fon a metal injection molding company. Man, this is not an ordinary job. The molding and designing process are very complicated. You need to used modern technologies to come up with a good quality metal materials.
