It's good to see a few more pictures. I'll never be able to do this, but it is good to see it!
Hey guys, this guy is a artist, but you know how he got that way, he built, and after that he looked them over and if he saw a mistake, he took note and built. You have to understand, the European's are lite years ahead in the field of paper modeling. They were building in paper way before we here in the US ever knew of such a thing. Go to some of the European Forums and the work is as good as anything built from wood and plastic, don't get me wrong, there is a slew (thats Southern slang) for alot of guys here on this forum that are turning out just as good work. What is the secret, again they build to the completion and build somemore. This holds true for any hobby, practice, practice, practice. Just a thought.:thumb:

I agree with you papastumpy. I've noticied some slight difference with the quality on my Invincible build. What is missing the most for me is knowing of the trade "secrets" on just what tidbits can be done to make the build that much better. Not the technicial stuff on the how to but how do you rig a ship? I'm all fat fingered. Practice or is there a bit of a technic to get it to look right? Does it matter? This forum is a great place to find out some of this stuff.

Highlander, you my friend are a class act. Looking at the photo's it is hard to tell this is a paper kit. I am a Big Fan of IJN and this one happens to top the list. Have been watching for the local mail order to get in so I can place my order. When I do, I hope you have posted every step of this build for a tutorial. Keep the photo's coming and tell us what you are doing, teach us!!!! Rick

Hi.

I have no secrets and I'd like to share. Problem is I'm stil out of time, I go to Belgium for two months and I have to break the build of Yamato. I'll try to make a tutorial build after my return home with easier ship. I'll do many pics and try to explain with better english.

I'm sorry.

Cheers.

Leszek.

One question. I cannot detect a trace of paint. How do you completely eliminate the white edges of paper?!

If you look at the close ups, it doesn't seem like paint was used on most of the parts. I think maybe edge coloring with color matched prismacolor markers and very steady hands ?

Smooth round paper hull

I rambled on the Polish forum to see your work, and I cannot understand how you could avoid gaps when gluing the sheets of paper side by side and achieve such a smooth result. Do you overlap two sheets onto the hull and cut two at a time, one above the other, and so get a perfect seam? And how do you tackle with the parts to get this gentle curve? Could you ask somebody to take some pictures while you are struggling with your hulls, to let us know, unless it is copyrighted!
