Imperial Drop Ship/Shuttle Craft

The previous photos were out of sequence due to their size. Here are the last batch for the time being. Working on the wings and I have the weapons system imagined. As mentioned before, I am building the ship as I go along. Next time I will revert to my old way of building first and making the thread later after it is done or almost finish. Enjoy and see you all next posting.

The wings are laminated and braced from the inside. They fold down against the fuselage and fold out. The engines will be attached to the upper part to allow for the retraction. With the engines on top, it will allow for armament to be place on the bottom surface.

Wll up to now it is in civilian mode but the weaponry is coming. It will have at nose section like the Thunderbolt, two in hull front cannons by the pilots side slope and wing tip cannons. There will be a rear gatling style turret.

It has been a while since I updated but with the present holiday and personal things, I could only work a bit at a time. This model is bigger than planned and is almost comparable to the Thunderhawk in size but not weaponry, at least not yet. Since it is in the Beta build stage, there are some issues to address, such as the center of gravity and the tail section being too low to the fuselage. The location of the engines are optional. The engines can be placed on the top as in this build, on the bottom and on the side open insert.

Here are the updates on the Craft. The wings are hinged and can be placed in the down attack position or in the up landing position.

Here is the next batch of pictures. The wings are operational, I just have to work out a mechanism to make them stay up other than gluing them in place.

m8, GW should hire u to redesign their awful Storm Raven, i like this bird waay more

Well if anyone from GW is checking this site out, all they have to do is give me an e-mail note. I am pleased that you like the build. At the moment I am at a lapse on the build. I decided to build the ALIEN Cheyenne Dropship because I am interested in the landing skids. I plan to use them as a reference for the Shuttle's Skids. So far, they seem to come out great. Will return to the Shuttle as soon as I finish with the ALIENS dropship.

Very nice.. just the kinda stuff i came here to see.

Welcome and glad that you found something you like. While I have almost all of Patoroch's designs on my hard drive and backups, I prefer to scratch build items not covered by GW. But I will build a few more of Patoroch's works so as to give a build thread for some of them. Written instructions are ok but a build tutorial is much better for everyone. I will get back to this project soon, as I am almost done with that ALIENS project. Enjoy and see you around the forums.

I made the build thread over at a new Warhammer papercraft site, paperhammer40k.com. For those of us who like warhammer stuff, they are trying to start a new paper community. If you wish to see the build thread, go on over and check out what they have to offer.

Sorry for the necroposting but these build thread from silveroxide are really engrossing and the site in question is now dead. I was wondering if it was (the build thread) posted somewhere else.

This isn't necroposting. Threads by SIlveroxide could never fall into that category. This is a resurrection! :)

I was going to bring this thread back to life, but I have to finish the drop ship first. This the reason I built the Storm Talon as a separate thread instead of here.. I have to take off the rear tail section and raise it higher. The way it is, the ailerons touch the rear of the fuselage. I am glad that the Dropship survived the storage. I will get back to this thread sometime in the future. This is my dedicated 40K thread and as I said previously, I am sorry that I did not continue here with the Storm Talon. It is the same way over at Dakkadakka and resinilluminati where I also post my 40K stuff. Enjoy and I hope to start sometime soon.

Silveroxide, I've moved this over to the WarHammer Section. :)

Thanks. When I joined there was not a 40K section, so it went here since it was the adequate place at the time.

I also have another build in the gaming and toys section, my New Chimera build thread. If you can, move that one over to the Warhammer section as well. Thanks again.

I moved a couple of 1000 other ones I found of yours. I think I got them all. :)
