Thanks for the nice comment sneaker.

The model is from a book which you can see in the attached pic. It has two models in it, the sitting one and a flying one. The flying one has a wing span about 30 inches body length is similar so it ends up a big model, dont know if I will ever make that one.

Wow! Ok I recall reading about this, but I never seen it built. That is cool that you get both options in one kit. How long did it take to build? Was it difficult? I am asking, because I am interested in buying one (assuming they are still available)

Thanks

Just found the box mine came in and it has a price of 3,800 yen I think at the time it was about 15GBP and postag3e was 2,400 yen but that was to Europe I belive addresses in the US are cheaper.

I had no problem with HobbyLink payment was made through paypal and I was kept informed of the progress of my order. It did say deleivery could take up to 28 days but I think I got it after 7.

build time for me was slow, I took about six weeks to make it but that was leaving it alone for days at a time. The body in particular is very repetitive. There are 47 body segments from tail to head and about sixty formers that go inside the body. The legs are quite repetitive and are a bit more fiddly than the body but no more difficult.

I must point out that my model is from scans from the book and so does not have printing on the reverse as the book does, nor does it have the same shine as the book.

You call this an attempt? The build is GREAT! If this is an attempt, I gotta see what happens when you say you are putting your whole efforts into something! Wow!

Best Regards,

Namaste.
Beautiful build.

Also HobbyLink Japan is a very good and reputable company to order from.
I have heard glowing reports about them from friends and collegues who have ordered from them.

Order with confidence. :thumb:

I might get this paper model, looks neat! I have the impression that its tail would brake on the slightest touch lol..

You might get that impression but there is a metal rod that runs the length of the body. Makes it very strong especially when you use too thick a rod wall1 means you have a bit of bashing to get the body formers to fit round the rod.

This is beautiful. I will definitely buy the book and take a shot at it. I think the kids at the school I'm teaching would love it... I like putting paper model things I've made, on display at the school's library to capture the kids imagination and have them try making their own models.

Thanks for sharing the pics.
