Indeed, thanks to all who had any hand in bringing the Gunstar to paper. I've wanted one of these ships since I was 12 and now it is a reality.

Thank you, Thunderchild. The nose art (or fairy as you call it) is a tiny decal I made from a painting called "Kabeiro" by a chap named Genzo. I almost always add a little personal touch to my models. Most often, I do the art myself, but this time, I borrowed from someone who's talents far exceed my own.

Love your models, by the way. I'm working up the nerve to attempt the Buck Rogers Warhawk...

Nice job Daikhovalin, thanks for sharing the pic! And Thunderchild, thank you for designing one of my favorite Sci Fi ships! Been wanting this for so long and now I have it dl'ed and going to start building soon! Thanks again!

Great job on that Gunstar! I had been wanting one too for the longest time. I even tried to save up for that massive Monsters in Motion kit (right up until I read about what a bear it is to build). When TC announced his and then put it up for download, I nearly wet myself with excitement!

Here's my build-up:

Daikhovalin, adding your avatar is a nice touch too. I likes. :D Thanks for the compliments. Good luck on the Warhawk, It's a tad on the difficult side. :)

RW2112, thanks for the kind words too. Glad you found it. Remember to post pics of your build! :)

MF, I just got tired of not finding any gunstar model in my price range. It was meant to be a simple model but evolved way out of proportion! LOL! The model wouldn't have been as good without your inputs during the test phase, so you also deserve credit.

ThunderChild, thanks for the compliments as well. I think I will need all the luck I can get; those Warhawk talons are a bit intimidating for a noob like me. I have saved a place for it next to the gunstar in the mobile I'm using to display the spacecraft I've built so far (keeps the cat from mauling them too).
Hmm... It just occured to me that if you make a mobile out of paper models, does it then become a stationery mobile?

Daikhovalin, You did a GEAT job on the Gunstar. I like how you added your avatar and the fairy to the paint scheme. I have built TC's Warhawk. It is a very good model. The best advise I can give you is, TAKE YOUR TIME!!! Really take your time on it. Do not rush throug it. Another good model is Maritn Saenger's Thunder Fighter. This another model that you need to take your time with. I have both sitting on my shelf together.
Good luck with it. I (and I am sure the rest of the forum) would like to see a build thread (if possible).

Amazing, can't wait to try this build. The one that is available is the small scale model right, not the big bertha they talk about.

You are correct. I built Big Bertha, and she is a BIG mutha. About 1:50 scale or so. The small Gunstar is more or less 1:72 (I haven't built it yet, so I can't say).

Yea, Big Bertha is in a continuous refinement process... sign1
...meaning on hold... wall1

With some nice shots I got from Millenniumfalsehood though, I can correct some mistakes and add some missing details.
Don't expect her to be available soon though...

I appreciate your desire for the perfect Gunstar, TC.

However . . .

If you put in all those little antennas on top of the hull I *will* personally kick your asteroids.

Seriously, I look forward to a general release of Big Bertha. Will you be adding landing gear and an extended ladder?

LOL

Now that you mention the antennas.... sign1

The landing gear, cockpit, hatch and ladder are all in the cards. (Pun intended.)

Thanks for all of the encouragement and suggestions. I have actually done Sanger's Thunderfighter. It is currently patrolling the airspace over my desk, flying wingman to the gunstar. It is one of my favorites, even if the nose-cones and their little cannons did nearly drive me insane.

In regards to this "Big Bertha"...
I'd love to do a gunstar with a cockpit. I would imagine it to be...challenging.

If you are going to do all the antennas, may as well model Grig and his 6000 little grig-lets too.

In any case, good luck with it!
