Stingray

Hopefully they will follow the example set by the new Captain Scarlet series, and keep them in a similar but modernised style

I would like them to minimise the use of CGI if someone did a GA file or new series. Let's see some marvelous models once again and maybe one or two full sized props. I think most of the original models for UFO would look just fine today - a fill sized working Mobile would be fantastic. It just the fashions and electronics date the current series.

I have been gathering some references for Zero-X but I haven't found a mesh yet.

Now theres a toy I would love, a full size SHADO Mobile!! with people building replica Tiger 1's all over the place I don't see why not, after all they built the Land Rams in BSG, I know of a Zero X FS model but not of anything else but I'm sure there is one out there. I think the Skydiver string vests for the ladies should be kept, just for old times sake,no other reason, you know just for the Anderson look, just for the ladies, tradition and all that.

How on earth do you manage to design these, and so quickly too?! My hat is definitely off to you, this is all hugely impressive!

100% agree PB... too much CGI these days, infact these productions can get a tad irritating and even some of the youger people like to see REAL stuff thrown in and that's saying something these days of hi-tech. I realize costs depict which way producers choose to go, but hey these shows require a lot of respect and to do them justice lets go for some of the real props :thumb:

I would love to see the use of models but I feel that CGI will be what is used HOWEVER! there is a chance given recent trends of some full size mock ups and even working vehicles again my worry is if there is no Anderson input then several icons of my youth will be turned into abominations like the Lady P car thing they replaced FAB 1 with on page 6 of this thread. One sad thing I found out today is that both Ed Bishop and Michael Billington of the original UFO left us within 5 days of each other back in 05.

No Anderson input  the thought makes me shudder. All the years of professional input and the mix of the REAL with the MODELS and the ACTORS was barn storming stuff. CGI is far too perfect and irritating to a point of distraction.

I may be a little thick here:p, but don't The Andersons have some sort of copyright. I really wish we could see some great models and full size mock-ups, but in the modern world, sadly these are getting less and less:cry:. Sir Pilsworth, you are a master of the art of paper models:thumb:,thank you again for making us all so happy:mrgreen:. I have finally printed out the SHADO Mobile, but being as its a bank holiday, "she who must be obeyed" has put a paintbrush in my hand and told me to get workingannounce1announce1, pics of the mobile will follow i promise:eek:ops:

All the best

I'm not sure what happened to the copyrights after the divorce but normally the film rights are bought and unless included in the terms whoever has them gets to do what they like.Budget will be the big decider on what is used I suppose. If it is CGI it would be nice if it is done in the Firefly fashion with camera shakes, lens flare and other clever little added imperfections that gave it a nice real feel.

I think ITC had the rights to all the GA stuff which is why all the GA merchandice came for Japan for a long time. They don't believe in copyright over there. I think a UFO film would be of a different style to the TV series as something has to be resolved in the 1.5 hrs min run time. Hopefully they will keep and have fun with some of the ideas - the organisation using a Film Studio for cover - just think of the Hollywood twists - X-wings that actually fly, working transporter technology, real action actors and how about it looks like CGI but it isn't?
