Jeffrey, glad you got your eyes on. Sounds like a good job you did for the sister. Other place is down? Nothing much going on here, watching some tv and then have chores and work to do around the house before the weather changes again. TTFN

Chief, It was almost as warm here in PA today, on our way to breakfast, after early church, the car thermometer had 61. It did cool off a little after about 11:00 AM. Not sure what it is now but it was pretty cool about 4:00 PM.

Steamhead, Let me know when you are ready. I do progress pictures on all of the ones I build. Put together a CD for a member of the CTT forum, who built one for his daughter.

Jeffrey, Glad to hear that you got your glasses. I know how bad it is to go without for a short time as I have worn them since I was about 8 years old.

Good morning.

It's 42 and clear here. The high will be in the low 60's and it will be partly cloudy.

Didn't get any layout work done yesterday. Went to Lowe's and looked at some electric heaters. I may be needing one soon. Mine is starting to make some strange motor related noises. I may get another milkhouse heater like I have or I may get something larger. They have an electric fireplace that looks like it will fit under the front of the layout. I'll have to check the measurements. It has a 1950's look to it that would go well with the age of my trailer (1950) as well as supply all the heat I would need. There's no gas or wood required as it's all electric so there's no need for a vent and I like the way it looks. I'll just have to clear the junk from under that part of the layout and mount a metal plate to the underside of the layout. I'll also have to figure out the finances for it.

Good morning folks

It was 38 F this morning on the half empty roads. I wish more morning commutes were like today’s. Our high will be 49 F. This weekend was another in the weird weather. Yesterday we had temperatures in the mid-sixties. It looks like this weekend could be yucky. Of course my son is supposed to go to a Boy Scout Winter Survival Day as part of his Arrow of Light requirements.

I worked on a couple of Accurail Outside Braced Wood Box cars last night. I pulled five of them out of the pile to assemble. I discovered that I have two L&NE cars. I also found that I have a set of the extra number decals from Accurail so I can renumber one of the cars.

Tonight we are going to the Mummers Fest in Philadelphia with my son’s Cub Scout pack. The Mummers are giving a tour for scouts tonight.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Record high of 74 yesterday. Going to stay in the high 50's to middle 60's for a few days. Was spitting rain but sun just came out. Got work to do at lake house tomorrow. Might take friend and his grandson fishing in the pond this PM. Have a great week.

Got my new heater today. Only put a $370 dent in my Lowe's card but it's tucked neatly under the front of the layout (after I loped the base off of the heater that is). It heats the place up in no time and has a very nice looking fireplace effect too.

Good morning.

It's 34 here and clear. The high is expected to be in the high 60's and it will be partly cloudy.

After finally getting fed up with having to kick and shake the old electric heater to get it started I went to Lowe's yesterday and got a new electric heater or more accurately an electric fireplace. I had to trim 7 inches off it's height to fit it into the space available but it's working very well and has the entire trailer at a toasty 70 degrees this morning. Whereas the old one pulled 1300 watts at 15 amps to heat a small space this one pulls 1350 watts at 12.5 amps and heats the whole place. I really like it. I have to go to DeRidder later this morning to see the orthopedist there to pick up my new shoes. That means I'll be able to get out of these dang boat anchors I've been in for the past couple of years. Now if I could get my car running properly everything would be fine. The computer said the problem was a bad EGR valve. I replaced the EGR valve but the problem remains.

Good morning folks

It was a cold 40 F this morning with the surprisingly cold wind blowing. Wind chill is 32 F but it feels much colder. High today will be 46 F.

We went to the Mummers Fest last night. It was a really fun event. They had arts and crafts, and the kids got to dress up as Mummers. My daughter’s picture is in the Metro newspaper ( http://philly.metro.us/ ). If you look close you can see my son in the background. We got a behind the scenes tour of the Fancy Brigades and saw how they were constructing their scenery. Then we got to see a sneak peak of Thursday show as all 11 brigades performed their routines minus their costumes and few “special” props. If you want more info on the Fancy Brigades checkout http://fancybrigade.com/ .

Tonight we are taking the Cub Scouts to a local sports memorabilia store for a baseball card collecting event.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Tom, Nice picture, will you be going to the parade? I have never seen it myself, don't really like standing in the cold to watch a parade. Watching on TV is much more comfortable. :thumb:
