Sorry Nothing...

Don't think so it will be that fast.

A lot of tuning up to do. Might be months...(if not, years !!!)

Work and family commitments doesn't permit me to be wholly on it.

AND also afraid that what happened to UHU (our friend who did up C3PO model) will happen to me too...

Just read about his predicament. Same to the rest of other owners whose creations being put on Rapidshare or up on Ebay without their prior consent / approval etc.

Quite sickening when some enterprising 'pirates' go that far to benefit out of other people's work.

Any other way to GIVE and yet, BE SAFE?

p/s: And here are what Milleniumfalsehood is looking for too.

Why let others screw it up for everyone else? Why not just make them password protected, or.... I don't know. Why even worry about the pirates. It's still your work right? Why not just make a model a release it and be done with it? Don't get me wrong, I'm not a big fan of anyone who steals anothers work. I guess I'm just not seeing the big picture here. Either that, or there's some aspect to model designing that I'm not getting.

Oh Mama!

Anon

Those are incredible models. Are they meshes from KOTOR or yourself or another source? They do look buildable though. Please keep them safe - it would be too horrible to have seen these and then loose them in a disk crash.

I don't quite understand how people can get away with selling pirated free models on Ebay - a quick google and most of the wonderful free models show up very easily. If you don't want your work pirated then putting it on several free sites should make it available to all and make it less pirateable.

Anon, put them up for download here. The models are only available to members, so they'd be more safe than having them on a file site.

I'd be more than happy to share the workload if you need someone to. If you get burnt out on the Ebon Hawk or the Harbinger, I'd be happy to take up where you leave off. :)

Nothing, by the sounds of it you are probably doing the same thing as your avatar. sign1

Plastic Bonsai.

The textures are extracted from KOTOR using some KOTOR Tools released back then. Can't recalled exactly which one.

The model was build up using a lot of reference screen captures taken during gameplay when my now 13 yr old son was playing it back then.

Yes, it is my intention is to release the model (but don't know how soon )
I think that your idea of releasing it ONLY to the members of this forum sounds good.

How can it be done? Let me know, pls.

Hey Anon. Is there any progress on the Ebon Hawk or has it died much like other great designs seem to do? I really wish someone will step up and do this thing right.

Look forward to hearing from ya.

Knight

The model is being put on hold since I'm now trying to finish the stormtrooper model that I post in another thread.

http://forum.zealot.com/t156449-5/

But I promise that I'll finish it once the stormtrooper model is done.

Regards.

Sorry to bump a thread that's been here for a while but can I just say I am laughing to myself at the minute. :)

I wanted a model of the Hawk when the game came out and periodically, when I could remember, I googled and scoured modding forums to see if anyone had ripped the model from the game. I'd almost forgotten about it but for a chance thread posted on 4chan's /po/. Someone managed to rip the model and as soon as it was in a blender-compatible format, I sank my teeth in. Having waited so long I must say: It never rains but it pours. (The reason for my state of humour). :D

Anon is correct in that it could have taken many months, luckily I had a lot of free time. I am sure many of you are aware that game meshes sometimes do not lend themselves to easy conversion into paper, this one required a good bit of cleaning up, rework and addition of poly's to ensure it would not warp, sag or collapse in paper form. It is a bit of an unorthodox shape too which meant that internal support would be hard to site. I think I did the best I could.

In regards to piracy and other contentious matters: I free myself from them by never expecting anything in return for my models. If someone feels like they need to profit from my work then it will be very hard for me to stop them, the same can be said for distribution; the Streisand effect ensures that it is a futile endeavour. I won't use DRM as it is fundamentally flawed in concept and practically useless. I know some of you guys try to make a few pounds/dollars/euro from your models and I support you in your right to get some kind of compensation from your work but expecting it to go uncopied when copying is such a trivial affair is, in my opinion, a fast way to anti-anxiety medication. :)

If some muppet decides that their life will be enriched and their friends will think they are great when they present my work as their own, more power to them; trying to sate a feeling of inadequacy in this way speaks of genuine personality issues and unhappiness which just makes me feel sympathy for them.

Theoretically, if I really want to make some cash from this I can offer to do work by commission (it is not going to happen though as I prefer to simply share and do not need to rely on this to feed me). I do not think that this would make for a very lucrative living especially when you consider that I am relying on fair-use to allow me to create and share the models. Licensing costs would likely ensure that breaking even would be the best I could expect.

This is my way of spreading a little happiness in the world, if I make a single person's day that little bit brighter then I count myself as lucky.

You could post your deviant art profile for those people on the forum looking for the Ebon Hawk you know...

Edit: Also, you could have consolidated the parts a little better...but good god man that is an excellent looking kit.

It's already in the other thread here Paragon, didn't want to spam up the board. I guess I could just put it my signature. :)

If you don't mind could you expand on your point about consolidation? Do you mean fit more parts per-page? If so, I decided that since printer ink is the expensive part of the equation and I wanted to make it as simple as possible to interpret the plans, an extra page or two was not that big a deal.

Thank you for your compliment, it is very much appreciated. :)
