Movin' on...

I have been invited to act as a moderator on the forum of a friend, so it is with some regrets that I relinquish my Moderator duties here, as crowdgather does not allow their Mods to act in the same capacity elsewhere. I do intend to stay on here as a Member, though, so you've certainly not seen the last of me. ;):-D
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Members here for their help in making my time as a Moderator a pleasant one, with not too much in the way of "bad behavior", and I'm sure that you'll extend that courtesy to whomever takes my place. And, as always, my PM "door" will be open for anyone who has questions or comments. :-D

Wayne....We all hope your absence here as moderator won't affect your invaluable input as a member. I believe many of us have made this forum their MRR'ing reference point in large part because of your unmatched modeling skills, and seemingly endless knowledge which you so freely share with us.
Thanks for your efforts, and GOOD LUCK..!!! :thumb:

I'll echo the comments of the other members. You will be missed in your capacity of moderator. It would much worse to have you leave "The Gauge" completely. As you noted, there have not been many situations develop that require moderating. Keep the photo's and stories coming as time allows. Jim

Wayne, hate to hear that. The work all of the mods like you put into ths site are greatly appreciated by all of us around here. So thank you VERY MUCH! Also, thanks for all of the scenery advice you have given me, it has made me a much better modeler, but I plan on getting a gift card or two to the LHS for Christmas, so that means more scenery to be done, so STICK AROUND!:thumb:

As one of the Third Class Steerage passengers on this TITANIC, I wonder if you would be kind enough to point out where the lifeboats are?

As far as I'm concerned, there are no Third Class Steerage passengers on this ship, but if someone thinks that there are, let them know that I'm one of them, and damn proud to be, too! The Members are every bit as important as the Mods in making any forum great.

Excellent - then you won't mind answering the specifric question. In the meantime, your mass resignatiions without truthful explanations are doing more to destroy the integrity of this forum than anything you ever did to help it, and the longer you obfuscate, the worse it will get.

My resignation was exactly for the reason which I stated: crowdgather's rules prohibit Moderators here from moderating on other forums. I chose to help a friend by moderating elsewhere, and until that site is up and running, I am not permitted to elaborate further. I would have preferred to also stay on here as a Mod, but that option was not available. I am still, and hope to remain, an active Member here.

That should suffice for the time being, gentlemen. If new rules preclude what was previously, especially in particular instances, and that is the explanation tendered, who should question the integrity of people with no prior examples of unethical behaviour...which is what the question earlier implies?

What I mean is this: Doc Wayne has a sterling history here....does he not? So, he has earned, I would think, a certain respect and regard for being honourable and ethical with the membership, as befits someone asked to be a moderator. My point is that, when he asserts that he is being honest, and even if only to the extent that he can, why challenge him now...of all times? I feel it isn't right to treat him that way.

That's all.

Mountainman,
I can't speak for the others, but I think my explanation was as truthful as it could be. (and it still might get me kicked out of here, but I had to say, what I had to say)
The move to Zealot was the beginning of the end for me. The site was Too Big, and in the end too slow, and "ponderous". When zealot became part of a larger, more "commercial" site, I struggled to keep up the "team spirit". There have been too many little things that have detracted from the enjoyment I used to have both as a member, and as a mod. There's still a clamp holding together the results of my frustration with all the things that "didn't work", and all the excuses for why they didn't work.
We didn't discuss our individual frustrations, so I think it's more a case of enough was enough. The thing we had been a part of, for the number of years we saw all the changes, had finally become.....for want of a better word, an "ugly stepchild".
I'm not surprised that the trickling of a few stones, has become a landslide. For me, at least, the end of the responsibility, frees me to be able to enjoy things here as a member. I can now choose to visit, and participate. I no longer feel "obligated".
I hope you can understand, I, and the others volunteered, we were never paid. We did what we did, because it was worthwhile for us to do. In the simplest of terms.......the effort, no longer has the reward of being "worthwhile", for me.
