I finally made it to LV&K club house in bethlehem, I gotta say it was a great layout, it's one complete layout and double decked in certain areas, and even have some real locations detailed!

This is the Easton fish ladders where the lehigh river meets the delaware

WHOA, that is a BEAUTIFUL Club Layout!! I love all the buildings and weathering. Everything is layed out so nicely and it looks so good. i would love to see more pictures if you have them :mrgreen:

My Favorites are the Cement Plant, Blast Furnaces, and the industrial complex :mrgreen:

I LOVE the gravel mine area. That really gets me thinking and wishing i could do something like that!! :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Absolutely terrific!! I noticed the "hot dog" slipped out of it's "bun" and had to be towed! Great club! Great layout and excellent photos! Thanks very much!

New to this forum & really going nuts looking at all the info.wall1 I recently dismantled my layout & have been building structures for about a year now & can't wait to get back on track. Very nice layout & your work shows that. I like the way you implemented back roads. We forget sometimes the trains aren't always the focal points. I like the way you ran some roads parallel with a double train track. I also, among many things like your fiddle yard. Its simple, not cluttered, realistic & functional. Thanks :thumb: Jim

Great pics. Like Josh, I really liked the gravel plant. I already built my Glacier Gravel plant, but I still haven't gotten the layout started. I love looking at pics like this becuase it helps generate more ideas about how to use structures on a layout.

That is one very beauatiful layout! And the tow truck rescuing the Oscar Myer Wiener Mobile is a nice touch!

Outstanding layout, Tom. I have one suggestion for future pics. When you shoot from a high angle (helicopter shots) the fact that your mountains are low relief against the back drop is emphasized. If you shoot more low angle, track level shots, or tighter overhead shots that don't show the hills and sky, that problem disappears.

I know what you mean. Yeah it was a rough week at work, when I got into the club I wanted to get a lot of fine low level shots but two things were cutting into my shots: my back and other people enjoying themselves. Quick trigger and move along had to work, the few closer more detailed shots came out blurry and I decided to not to try much.

Beautiful layout! Thanks for sharing all of the photos. I'm impressed by all the big industry, the large yard, and the attention to detail in every scene. You don't often see canals and locks on rivers on layouts. Very neat! Can we see more?

When I get to it, should be this saturday or sunday.


The canal and locks are heritage in my area, it started here in Easton and went down to Bristol, They renovated it and added a gift shop, then binny-smith contributed a lot and added thier own historical industry museum building on the property, but for a while now the canal tours have been going on since I've been a kid.
