Good morning folks

It was a chilly 25 F as I headed off to the office this morning. High today will be 49 F with rain coming. We had a wild Friday with snow off and on most of the day. Where I live a few miles to the west there was 4 inches while in Philadelphia there was less than an inch. We probably had about 2 inches on the grass. Roads were slick. My wife got stuck several times in mile long back- ups on her way to work. I was home sick with the last (I hope) gasp of this cold virus I have been fighting for weeks. Today is the best I have felt in about three weeks.

We had a busy weekend. On Friday night we had our Cub Scout Pack Overnighter at the Ashland Nature Center in Hockessin, De. Getting there was a treat with the snow falling Friday evening and dealing with Friday rush hour/snow panic traffic. Once there we had a great time. The scouts did a night hike. They saw a tortoise and a terrapin. The theme of our program was Lenape Indians. They heard Native American stories, made clay pots, dressed like Lenape, and played Lenape games. They did a morning a nature hike.

We spent Sunday working on my son’s school project. He is making a diorama of the room in Independence Hall where the Constitution was drafted and signed. In Social Studies they are studying the American Revolution and the Constitution. In January he will be visiting the Constitution Center.

I did run some trains. I put away a bunch of stuff that had collected on the layout. I cleaned off the workbench and looked over the “pile” and began to contemplate the next project.

This afternoon we have parent teacher conferences for both kids.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning, Cold and wet here changing to snow/sleet mixture this afternoon.

Chief be careful wiring up the lake house.

Got the Jan. CTT kinda skimpy this issue a neat token S gauge layout story shows one does not have to have a big massive layout to create an interesting display of trains and scenery.:thumb:

GOOD EVENING ALL, we had 35 and big snow flakes but nothing stuck so right now things are just wet. My daughter took me to the mall this morning wanted to get me a christmas present so I found some soft jeans on sale at sears. For me they are more comfortable. No trains today but a little CTT with much to go. I think it seems a little punny too. TTFN...S.J.

Back again, GOT THE REINDEER DONE !!! Bad news is won't be able to put them up as planned. Tradition is to put them up on Thanksgiving weekend., but we have big rainstorm coming in with winds. Suppose to get up to 4" of rain!!!! (Pineapple Express) But it can really be bad for the people near the fire areas. Expecting some real mud slides!! Hope it isn't real bad for them. Only thing I have concern over is a river channel behind our house, but it should ok.

Need to compliment a supplier. Have some switch motors that I'm sure I caused them to burn out. So LAST Thursday sent them to him, (CA to NY), and I received replacements TODAY!! CALIF TO NY and BACK over the Weekend! I had also enclosed some money to cover shipment and replacement of the switch motors, he returned the money ALSO !!! I just don't know where else you could get that kind of response, other than this hobby. In case you may not know whom I'm referring to lets just say they are well z switch motors, signals and lights!

Good morning.

It's 41 and clear. The high should be in the upper 60's and it will be partly cloudy. We got half an inch of rain yesterday along with a lot of lightning and thunder. I'd really prefer to get just the rain without the accompanying light and sound show.

Yesterday's project was to correct the problem with the lighting (lack thereof) of the Lakeside Shipping scene. It turned out to be a simple broken wire and was quickly repaired. While I was at it I reworked the scene a little. Having two buildings at the back of the scene has always bugged me because it made the area look too crowded. So I removed the tan building and moved the red brick building over into it's place. There's much more room now and it no longer looks like one of the buildings is trying to shove a tractor trailer off the scene. The revised scene can be seen at the bottom of this post.

Today's Weather for:

Morning. Hope all are doing good. Getting ready for the big meal. MIL has not gotten her BIG turkey out of our freezer. She does turkey and ham along with all the trimmings. John F, sent you an email about the electrical find at the lake house. Had some rain last night but fair now. Temps are still below average for this time of the year in NC. Have a good one.

Jeffrey - that's funny, like the basket place that has a building shaped like a giant basket - Longeberger? SP?

Furnace guy came, ran trains a little bit, took kids out to lunch and just got home from Walmart with them. I bought them each a movie and now we are watching Kit Kitteridge American Girl or something? It's set in the early 30's, but no trains or trolleys so far....

CSX - let us know when you update your photos, okay?

How is the electronics (nuts and volts mag.) learning going? I used to read Radio Electronics, poupular electronics and there was another one but do not remember the name of it. Radio shacks Mini engineers notebooks are a good learning material and also entertaining as well.

Good Evening All, just warm enough for no snow to stick. Those not to far from us had to do some shoveling today. I am thankful,it's the season to be thankful. No trains today, just didn't get there. But I always think of them. Turkey is thawing and I am ready to eat but for now it will be banilla and apple pie. Have a great tomorrow...S.J.

Good evening,

Don, There are some real good people in the train business.

Chief, I responded to your email.

Jeffrey, Keep the pictures coming.

They were predicting nasty weather here today. We got a little rain very early morning and the rest of the day was beautiful with temps in the mid 40s, I can live with that. Still predicting rain tomorrow & Friday and Saturday. Supposed to be NICE for Thanksgiving. We will be traveling about an hour to oldest daughters so that is appreciated, snow would not be fun.

The masons started today on the base of the rebuilt chimney (have I mentioned they started taking it down 2 weeks ago?) and they think it should be done b Friday. We thought they would be doing it last week and we had the days clear. This week we have all sorts of appointments. It had to come down because it was separating from the house -- split by a couple of inches at the roof.
I went out to operate Lostock Junction today -- about a 4 hour session with lunch in the middle. We had familiar jobs first half then jobs we don't know in the second.
I bought Dayle her Galloping Goose on the weekend. We've been looking for one for almost 2 years but this was the first On30 we saw. Weird paint scheme. Fun, but it won't go through my platforms or the bridge and it didn't get close to the tunnels!
