Alright now I went to see my shrink He told me the light and the tunnel are all a figment of my imagination. I told him I have a good imagination, shoot far man I am a model railroader. I gota have one to be a model railroader. I showed him some pics of my RR. He said I am in real trouble and he is going to have to make some house calls. He is coming over next Saturday evening when I am having an operating session.

If that there itty bitty pinpoint of light IS the exit, Then I got no problem. I would never have got that far away from it in the first place. Consequently, you fellers be standing by yourself, and I'm on the other side of it. That is, IF it is really, truly, by gosh honestly is the exit.

Lynn
Well, now, then... remember that: as long as we are in "this half" of the tunnel, tube, straw, cavern, well, whatever - we are entering....

As soon as we go past the Mid-point (wherever THAT is) we will be "exiting" :D :D :D

I believe if you look to the original post You will find that the light has been turned off. So actually no one has a clue what this is about. For weeks now everyone has been trying to turn off the light that has already been turned off. I think we need to turn it back on myself. If we put the energy expended on putting out a light that is already out into turning it back on we should be successfull .

The light is definitely on....
According to post #5, the guy who was supposed to turn it off had his job "downsized", so it was never turned off....
As to the whereabouts of the infamous tunnel...I have no idea....

I went to see a Freudian shrink. His explanation is, of course, sexually oriented and not repeatable in these hallowed premises.

E-paw: We do not know the scale, since we are part of the experience and have no real outside reference to go by. We may be trapped inside a soda straw in some incredibly gigantic alternate universe, or inside a gigantic sewer pipe in a different one. All I can do is advise members not to suck or flush until we know for sure! sign1

I cannot believe I just said that...

Please, nobody blow either.

After further contemplation, I have come to the conclusion that I will have to get back to you...

Where is my aluminum foil beanie?

What about post #5...??? The light is on...I tell ya'...!!!!
I seen it with my own eyes....!!!
I am so sorry Gus, that was me with a flash light. I was trying to turn it back on but the Marines were a little too much for me. If there weren't so many of them I could have made it, or if I had 2 good arms even with bum leg (stroke) I think I could have fixed it

Plus, his aluminum foil beanie fell down over his forehead and he couldn't see. That's why I crimp mine extra tight around the ears.

:D now I really AM confused... (more than normal) Were you trying to turn the flashlight back on? Or where you using the flashlight to find the "light" to turn IT back on?? Or, where you looking for the light's Switch, to turn the switch back on???:eek::eek::eek:

It's not rocket surgery
by the way....... it's been almost a MONTH (10-14-0 since the light was First reported "Extinguished"... This could take till next year to figure out!!!

It's about time then that we struck a committee to determine what the real problem is...

See also "Beating a Dead Horse", especially #6 below:

Beating A Dead Horse

Dakota tribal wisdom says that when you discover you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount.

However, government bureaucracies often try other strategies with dead horses, including the following:

1. Buying a stronger whip.
2. Changing riders.
3. Saying things like "This is the way we always have ridden this horse."
4. Arranging to visit other sites to see how they ride dead horses.
5. Increasing the standards to ride dead horses.
6. Appointing a committee to study the dead horse.
7. Waiting for the horse's condition to improve from this temporary downturn.
8. Providing additional training to increase riding ability.
9. Passing legislation declaring "This horse is not dead."
10. Blaming the horse's parents.
11. Acquiring additional dead horses for increased speed.
12. Declaring that "No horse is too dead to beat."
13. Providing additional funding to increase the horse's performance.
14. Commissioning a study to see if private contractors can ride it cheaper.
15. Removing all obstacles in the dead horse's path.
16. Taking bids for a state-of-the art dead horse.
17. Declaring the horse is "better, faster and cheaper" dead.
18. Revising the performance requirements for horses.
19. Saying the horse was procured with cost as an independent variable.
20. Raising taxes (any excuse will do).

And if all else fails:

21. Promote the dead horse to a supervisory position
