Two new Malibu trucks from Wal-Mart can't say much for their paint schemes but I think these are going to be great parts trucks.

Now I'm AMP'd
Some nice looking trucks there Catt.
Here's a couple more. Two that haven't made it to the layout yet, and one that probably won't.

First, 1/86th(Can't get much closer to HO, without being HO) scale Matchbox from 1988. This is a salesman "pass out" from the late 1980's, early 90's. Before UPS licensed their logo(And way before they sponsored Dale Jarrett...)

Next, Don't remember who made this one, but since I like Diet Coke, I had to have it. Got it at the BigE train show.

Last, Think I got this one at the same show(maybe the same vendor) Con-Cor Shell tanker. Even came with a driver already in the seat!

Cool trucks Johnathon and Ed

Ed that Diet Coke truck appears to be an early Athearn truck and the shell tanker i think is a Model Power truck, i have one too that looks identical to that one and mines made by Model Power

How about some 1:64 scale stuff,

Chopped and slammed 52 Chevy hardtop complete with tri-carbed Corvette 6.
52chevy.jpg

According to the box this set came in that 56 Ford convertble up on the trailer is actually a Crown Victoria hardtop.Doesn't really matter as everything will be getting repainted anyway.

There's more but I'll save them for another day.

Well ,rats Catt.

I would like to have seen it.
I've got a 35 packard I am going to put in the junkyard & right now I'm getting pics of the V12 motor they had ---I am going to build one to put in the Packard --probably one thats patially dissasembled , that will save trying to duplicate the complicated heads & manifolding.

Working HO trucks at the lumber mill.

While not the prettiest sights, here are a few of the hard working trucks (in HO scale) at KITTOM mill #1 in Eastern Tennessee.

Then more progress on the 40 Ford. This car will have the interior stripped so , I made a complete new door for it from aluminum & will model the inner structure on it & the unopened door & the quarter panels as well. I think I have some tiny clock gears to simulate the window winders. I have the rear floor in it now & part of a frame.

Next are some pics of another neat trick I have discovered, I had already mentioned using the patterned foil from a cigarette package for running boards & floor mats. The Packard has ribbed running boards so I hit on the idea of using the tool I had made for making corrugated roof material from foil, to use the cigarette foil to make ribbed board covers --- the existing pattern looks really spiffy when it has ribs run on it .

Mack CH613 & 53' Trailer
Little project im working on

I have a few Lonestar models 40' Trailmobel Flatbed Trailers that are still unbuilt

1 White, 1 Construction Yellow, and 2 JB Hunt. All of them have now been built and look great. But this white one i decided to rough it up and make it well used and in need of desperate repair to the wood deck.

While working at Lowes in the lumber/building materials department, we would receive trucks from Quickcrete and Sir Mix (for our concrete products) and trucks from the RDC (our main warehouse). The RDC hired SWIFT Transportation to haul our loads out to us, which contained various materials for our department, the whole 48' truck would be our stuff, mostly bunks of lumber, roofing materials, and decking.

There were some big differences in the companies equipment they used to haul the loads out to us. The worst was Sir Mix. They used OLDER equipment like the old Mack COE's and older 28' flatbed and 45' trailers. Ocationally, we would get a Sir Mix truck with a semi new 48' trailer but it was rare lol. There trailers were always VERY beat up from many years of work, and the floor boards were always tore up and missing in allot of spots and they didn't look like they were maintained at all except for the wheels which were always shinny lol. Quickcrete always had nice trucks and equipment. it was rare to get a truck that had older equipment, and if it was an older trailer, it had been re-furbished and you could not tell. No floor boards that i saw were ever missing or coming up on the Quickcrete Trucks. Most of them were also 48' spread axle Aluminum Decks. The RDC trucks (SWIFT) were most of the time fairly maintained. A few floor boards missing here and there on some of the trailer i saw, but not nearly as bad as the Sir Mix Trucks and Trailers.

I worked there for almost a year, and receiving 3-5 trucks flatbed trucks a week, i saw a lot of flatbed, (mostly 28's and 48's) some of them in very good condition and some of them in very bad condition. The Sir Mix trucks have inspired me to "beat up" one of my flatbed trailers with the wood decks. Here is my progress so far. Ive weathered with washes so far, next will come the chalks:

More Junkyard Progress "nother Hudsun P.U.

Here are a few progress pics on a Hudson Pickup, made from a sedan, they did make such a vehicle.
I'm thinking it needs a big, ugly push bar in place of the front bumper? Perhaps steel with a wood plank? What say you all?
As always this is a 1/64 Car .
