Deano, that BRC car looks a lot like the CN taconite cars that used to run into Hamilton, Ont., although that one looks like it's been fitted with ballast hoppers.

SWEET! More WP please!

Funny, I have a model of that car, and with the weathering on it, it looks like the real 12076.

Thanks Deano! :thumb:

Deano, looks like you had some fun out there. Great pics as usual :thumb:. This BRC car is something new to me, I’ve never seen such a car before – very interesting.

Wayne, THANKS!, for the insight on that "hopper?":thumb: , i had no clue as to what it originally was/could have been. all i know is i have seen that car three times in WSOR consists, the first two times it was about smack in the middle of covered hoppers, this last time it was on the tail end of covered hoppers, with a gon and some boxcars after it. i too noticed this car had ballast type discharges on it, yet i have NEVER seen it with or anywhere near ballast cars, only covered hoppers, this is quite an interesting car:winki::mrgreen: .

Josh, i currently have two flag units, an ES44AC and an AC4400:winki::mrgreen: .

Great looking car, Deano. Mister Nutbar and I saw them at my LHS, and they're very nicely rendered, although too modern for either of us.

Gus, my friend:smilie: , you always say the kindest things, THANK YOU:smilie: .

the Hiawatha was truly an awesome passenger train, and it would be neat to have the complete train, but honestly, i have so many passenger trains already, i think i am just going to get two more cars to add to this observation car, and consider it an excursion Dinner train:winki: .

i am considering getting the P2K F unit that has the same paint scheme, really though dad has the perfect match up to these cars, he has the Athearn F unit that doesn't have the "Milwaukee Road" emblem on it, his has the Hiawatha emblem on it, but thats one of his favorite engines he runs freight with often, but i think the P2K has much better detailing on it, so i might get one to go with this:winki: . i have also considered using my Milwaukee Road, Pacific "Chippewa" to pull the train, the paint scheme doesn't match, but its a Milwaukee Road steamer, so it might be fitting to run it with this excursion Dinner train:winki: . (pics of dads Hiawatha F unit, and my Chippewa below:thumb: )

THANK YOU Wayne:smilie: , and your right, it IS a GREAT looking car:thumb: , so darn neat i couldn't not have it:mrgreen: . the whole set is supposed to replicate the 1955 Twin Cities Hiawatha, way to new for you, and i am sorry, but i cant remember what year/s nutbar is modeling:eek:ops: , in any case, in 1955 i doubt that the Hiawatha would be in you guys neck of the woods anyways.
THANKS again Wayne:smilie::smilie:

Very Sharp:thumb::thumb:
THANKS JIM!

THANKS Matt! , you posted while i was writing this:119: .

Banned eh...seems your wife might not even be "on track", could be derailed:eeki: , seems to me sometimes you have to give a little to get a little:winki: , perhaps a nice night out to dinner and a movie might help her get back "on track", and better your chances in getting the highball to getting what you were looking for:winki::mrgreen: .

On the other hand, keep in mind i am currently single:eek:ops: , so what do i know:toug::119::rolleyes: .

TRAINFEST in Milwaukee

BRC 1954 is... well, cute. Looks like a ballast car to me, too, not a covered hopper.
Triplex, when Wayne told me he thought it was a ballast car, i 100% believed him:thumb: , the bottom discharges really gives it away, i just think its so odd that of the three times i seen that car, it was with covered hoppers, no other ballast cars in the consist.

*******************************************************
TRAINFEST IN MILWAUKEE...

i honestly didn't think i was going to make it, i have had a bad cold and didn't think dad would take me, but he did:thumb: . sure i could have went myself, but its kinda iffy as to weather my car would have made the trip:eek:ops: .

the show wasn't all that busy when we were there, sure there was a lot of people, but i have seen it much more busy in years past. i seen Pete there, but didn't stop in because every time i went by his booth, he had about three people with him, he was doing business, so i didn't bother him.

the only thing dad bought was a Milwaukee Road DVD that was based on our area, he has been talking about it for a month or two, I'm real glad he got it:thumb::mrgreen: .

i found some GREAT DEALS:thumb::mrgreen::mrgreen: , surprisingly though, NONE of them was on UP items:eeki: , WOW, i think this is the VERY FIRST show that i haven't got ANY UP stuff:eeki: , but then again, what UP stuff don't i have:119: .

i got the two Hiawatha cars i needed to complete my "Dinner train", first is the Diner...

DSC02555.JPG

and i got the Tap Lounge...

DSC02565.JPG

i think those two cars, with my NEW Hiawatha observation car will make for a real nice "Dinner train":thumb: .

i mentioned before about getting an F7 to pull the train, but at the show i came up with an even BETTER idea:winki: , what would be the BEST engine/s to pull one of Deano's "Dinner trains" ? , how about a Beloit Built Fairbanks-Morse CPA16-4!!!:mrgreen: , NOW WERE ON TRACK:thumb::mrgreen: . I got an A/B set, BRAND NEW, for a steal, though i am not sure i want to use the B unit to pull a three car train:119: .

DSC02517.JPG

DSC02527.JPG

The Milwaukee Road had five A-B-C sets of the FM CPA16-4's painted in the Hiawatha colors, i don't have any pics of the set i have, #23, but i DO have a pic of the last set of them, #28:thumb: . i noticed steam pipes on the far back of the engines, so i am going to really put a lot of extra details into this engine, take a good look at it now, because it wont look the same when i am done:winki: .

i also picked up a Milwaukee Road H10-44, BRAND NEW:mrgreen: ...

DSC02534.JPG

i am not to hot on that paint scheme, so i am going to put this shell on that motor and frame...

DSC025431.JPG

i really like the old black and orange engines, those are what i grew up with here in Beloit:winki: . i also have BRAND NEW hand rails for that engine, so i can take those old thick ones off, and put the better thin ones on it. don't worry, I'll keep the other shell intact so if i want to switch them out, i can:thumb: .

well, thats it for now, i have TONS of work to do on my new buys, and sound decoders to install.

Till next time...Stay on track!:winki:

Ok, I goofed. After pulling this car from storage, I was mistaken, I have WP 12056, not WP 12076. Sorry 'bout that.

At any rate, here is the car, but apparently, it needs to hit the RIP track before it ever leaves an initial terminal again. What ever happened to that cars sill steps?! Oops, better bend some new ones...
