Not only do I have no objection, I would actively encourage you to please post more. These are scenes few of us will ever have the opportunity to see. To have someone with a front row seat show us what is happening is truly a gift.

Thank you, Herc Driver.

Feel free to post airplane pics Herc! We have plenty of room for layouts and your photo reminders of our nation's role (and yours) in Afghanistan!

Here two Penn Central freights pass the tower at West Mill...

Nice work everybody!

Jeffrey, that loco looks like it might be your best paint job yet! It will look very doog when finished.

Herc, as everybody is saying, we have no problem with you posting your pics. Its nice to hear from you, and really cool to be able to see pics of where you are and what you are doing. Your story behind the pic was very interesting. Please post more soon!

Canada, eh?
Here's one-of-a-kind Thousand Islands Railway's #500, a former electric locomotive rebuilt by CNR-owned Oshawa (electric) Railway. After a brief stint on the Oshawa line, it went to the Thousand Islands Railway, at Gananoque, Ontario, in 1931.

Originally fitted with two 125 hp Waukesha gas engines, she was re-engined, in 1947, with twin Cummins 142 hp diesels. As-built, many parts were supplied by Whitcomb, and they even assigned her Whitcomb Builder's No. 50006-12/30. She ran on the three-mile-long TIR until April, 1963, when retired by the CNR.

Don't you know it! There's three
manufacturers represented in that photo. The first loco (KCS) is a 30+ year old Bachmann GP40 with new trucks, motor and shell. The second is an Athearn GP60 frame with a Bachmann GP40 body and the third id a 30+ year old Roco built Atlas GP40. Antiques on parade!

Wayne,

I think that 1000 Island Herald is interesting. It seems to be a copy of some from around here, like Detroit and Toledo Shoreline and Detroit Terminal Railroad, and others.

Look at Central Vermont's here, for example.

Kyle, the herald is actually based on that of the CNR, which owned the TIR, along with GT, GTW, and the Central Vermont, among others.

I got several items in the mail today. An envelope with several Athearn caboose chimney pipes in it and a box containing two freight cars. A unmarked gondola and an unmarked covered hopper.

Here's the gondola

And here's the covered hopper

The new gondola is already being put to use. It has a load of some very heavy concrete wall sections.
