That looks cool and a lot more practical than developing a cloaking device to disguise yourself as ironman. Just upscale it... It could be like a lawn gnome only much awesomer.

so fare it it top of the line work like all his other models
Maybe when the Armor is all done he could make some support structure to hold it all up. it would be coolsign1
of course this would take a lot more card to build:twisted: but it would be a cool peace to have

Howdy Red - Sounds like it's coming together :thumb:

Still working (admittedly very slowly) on the card version of the chest plate i.e. less curved but a neater design for those who won't be grinding down the finished product

Just no time these days - What with the demands of my new(ish) home and new girlfriend, it is not a good combination for card modelling, so I end up doing little more than 10-15 minutes a week ATM (I'm serious), but hope to do more as things calm down.

As for the mannequin, I reckon easiest thing to do would be to knock up a baisc frame using black PVC piping and joints, and hang the armour of that - sounds like a job for one of our more DIY gifted members - any takers ?

May be this fella ( Elsocraft ) can help.
you should see the Wall-E that he is makeing and builinghttp :eek: www.elsocraft.blogspot.com

Woh - looks like serious precision work!

As far as help goes Red I'll take all I can get  any takers for the shoulders forearms and boot tops?

That said, I probably need to finish the chest plate myself. The good new is that I spent the last few evenings finishing my Beta, so all going well, I may get the Ceta kit of the card version finished by early next week - Any Ceta builders out there?

After that is completed, I'll stick it online, and draft up your sword and belt plans, then if someone could do a beta from those we could be in business

Very best regards

Paul.

That said Iv ben playing with some idles for the shoulder arm four-arm as a one piece sleeve I'm looking for some materials to use for the elbow joint.

I had thought of the flexible dryer tube and paint it but need to find the right size and type that will closely match the pictures of the cylon elbow.

Nice one!

As for the all-in 1, do you mean the shoulder and the upper arm?

Just thinking you might be better leaving it as two, as that shoulder peice is going to need some flexibility - lift your arm up straight forward and envisage the two stuck together and you'll see what I mean

Reckon the black bits would be better made from some flexible black rubbery material, but I could be wrong ....

Very Best Regards

Paul.

Very Very Nice!!!

I also managed to get a few hours in this weekend and have started what should hopefully be my final Ceta build of the chest piece. Should finish by the end of the coming week, and then I'm off on my hols for a week. Will publish before I go or after my return depending on the time I have.

My wife was asking sign1
" What do you think that dumb thing is worth? "( I know what the 6 lbs of aluminum that the Head is is worth)
I said I don't know and I'm not selling it. And I wont make any more of them.
The one cylon and the extra head is all.
I don't have the room for more.
Just out of curiosity what do you think it would be worth.
and no it is not for sale.

Well they say something's only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it - I've seen Chromed Styrene helmets go for £200 with a chaser (about $450) but yours is less a replica and more a piece of art, so I'm clueless, but I'd be amazed if you wouldn't at the very least get something similar. As for a full set of aluminium Cylon armour - your guess is as good as mine.... $1000? Discuss

Thank you that is right  it is just a piece of art  and only worth something to me  and some one that would pay for it. (if I would be willing to sell it for anything other then scrap matle) sign1

I think a full set of armor would go for at least $1,000 US. I know that's a basic price for historical armor. The thing is, someone will pay anything for something they like.

Picasso, for example. People pay millions for his paintings, and to me, they all look like crap. Now I grew up on a cattle ranch, and while I wouldn't take a Picasso, I know people (myself included) who have paid hundreds of dollars for a pair of silver-mounted spurs.

I know gamers who pay 200+ for a Warhammer army, and other people who shell out for Magic cards. It all depends on finding someone interested. If you ever decided to sell it, I'd say E-bay. Or a Sci-fi convention.

But if you keep it, I certainly wouldn't blame you, either.

It's not just a peice of art mate, it's a damn fine peice of art!!

I've heard that Kropserkel charge about $2500 for a full suit formed from chromed ABS plastic, but theirs is a replica.

Now yours doesn't have a chrome finish, but on the plus side it's metal!!! - Hard to put a price on something that's fairly unique.

BTW you can't put stickers on your badboy, have you thought about trying to get something to try replicate real equaliser effects on the backpack etc.

I took the electronics out of the cylon snowman it has the sound close enough to work.
it runs off 5.5V on the usb porton your computer but you can put 6V max into it so 4 AA battery's powers it now
