Wow! You have a lot of stuff! I can't wait to see what you are doing with that single track along the wall. Looks interesting!

Thanks Jesso

The single track going up the wall is the grade going up to the main level of the layout from stagging :thumb:

Airsoft is like paintball but not the same, airsoft uses little plastic pellets like BB's and paintballs uses well, paintballs lol :thumb:

hehehehe going out to Virginia could be fun

Main Layout Started!!!!

I started bolting the main layout benchwork in place finally!!!! Now i just need the blue/pink foam for the base ontop of the shelf

heres some pics:

As you can see, this is where the grade from stagging level meets the main layout. To hide the train comming up, there will be a scenic backdrop and buildings in front of the track coming up

Looking good Josh,

This layout has been in planning for a while i am very happy to see it getting built up. Will you have a turntable somewhere on this layout ?

Nope i dont have any plans for a turntable or any sort of engine maintenance buildings, I would if i was going to have a hole empty corner or something but id rather fill all the room i have with heavy industry type buildings such as Cement/Asphalt, Grain, and large Warehouse buildings to display both freight cars and some of my trucks

Looks great! Love those BNSF engines! Impressive collection of double stacks! What are you going to do to the incline risers next to the wall? Are you going to make them look like part of the wall or scenic them?

Thanks Scott!! The double stacks are my favorite type of rolling stock, and im steadly building my collection of them

The incline risers are to go up to the main level. I dont plan on painting or doing anything to them, as you wont see wont see them when i take pics or anything like that, you will be able to see them when you walk around and look around in my room and they do look kinda ugly but.... lol I can deal with that

WOW! And I thought modeling the DMIR main from Duluth to Prctor had a sick grade!

LOL, the grade is 3% most of the way up, the last part is about a little under 4%. This just means ill have to have some good powered consists to get the train up the grade

More Shelfs Bolted in Place

So i got some more of the shelfs up today, I did the window span for the main layout today.

I put up 6 supports on the stagging level for the main layout level. I used 2x2's for the supports using L-brackets to mount the 2x2's

here some pics
