Are There Locos or Sets You Want But Don't Have?

For me they are the CB&Q Pioneer Zephyr and the N&W J Class #611.
Both require 19" curves and I will never have enough space to build a worthwhile layout of that size.

:(

A Pennsy E-44 electric... because they've never been made in N Scale, and only once in HO (my dad has it, a brass import from the 1970's).

Other than that, my shortline buys whatever it can get! Lately that's been nothing, after a bit of a "binge" a few years ago.

Yes, because apparently there are no N-scale Shays or other geared locos.

Actually, Atlas did make a Shay in N, and I have heard a rumor they intend to re-run it one of these days.

The HOn30 Keystone Shay kit (with NWSL motorizing kit) could be a starting point for an N model. It is a model of a 20T Shay in HO, so some possibilities are there....Not exactly RTR, but....

I can but hope - all the LHS's I have tried in my area tell there isn't one available. There are other loco's appropriate to the layout, but I had hoped to add the single Shay that was actually abandoned in place when the real railroad closed down and tore out the tracks. I wanted to model it as it was when it was working.

Thanks for the advice on the conversion, but I am nowhere near that good.

in stock 2 truck shay! Brand new, Atlas.

I bought from this place before (where I got my shay from in June) and its a quick shipper! Also got my J-Class N&W from him.

As for what I need for loco's/sets.
I need someone to build a Canadian National U1F class (606x series) Mountain class with the streamlined bullet nose. I'm trying to kitbash a Bachmann Mt. Into one, but the tenders too long to make it perfect. I also need CN 1954 passenger cars to go with her...but Rapido is making those for 2009.

I would like to get:
GP9 Canadian National 1954 scheme
RS11 CN 1954
CN SW1200
CN Northern w/Vandy (Bachmann??)
CN Consolidations (would like 3 of them...bachmann again)
RDC2
RDC3
Athearn Big Boy
Athearn old time 2-8-0

I know Bachmann recommends 19" radius for its new N&W Class J but, it operates very nicely on 11" curves. I have one section of 9-3/4" track in the lead to my roundhouse area and that causes no problems, either.

I, too, would like to see an N gauge Baldwin Centipede and while I do not model the PRR, I would certainly buy one. I did, once, bid on the Hallmark brass version but when it went over $400, I gave up!
