Jan Smithers :twisted::twisted::twisted:;)

Ahhh, the lovely Bailey Quarters! Right there with you Wayne! The turkey episode was among their best. Thanks for the laugh Chessie! I like the copter.

Jesso, the bear scene made me laugh too. In answer to your question, the ball field is a case of selective compression run amok but it looks reasonable, especially since I cut off the front of it on the edge of the layout.

Beaut of a loco Shaygetz!

There was a request in another thread for me to show a little more of my control stand in the photo thread. For those who haven't seen it before I have an MRC powerpack inside my model of an EMD cylindrical control stand. The throttle and the reverser work as does the horn cord (which activates a continuous loop tape), and the bell switch which does the same. I have a photo of an F unit cab mounted on the control panel to show visitors just what the heck they are looking at when they see my control stand.

Young visitors are hard on the equipment so I've been making the controls more sturdy.
I've just revamped the loco brake which activates a canned air hiss when the handle is pulled in either direction.

Here is my so called "See-liner", an old AHM dummy C liner that perfectly contains a minicam that sends video to a TV now part of the control stand complex. I've created my own train simulator!

Here's an example of an image captured on the TV by the control stand.

I painted another C liner shell in my freelanced colors as well. The dummy is pushed along by the powered Geep.

Its fun to be an engineer at the controls!

Sprues can be very useful. Back in the days when movie and TV spacecraft were physical models, sprues were sometimes used to create pipes and other details. Yours is a rare case of sprues being used to make an entire recognizable structure.

triplex, the colors are actually the Boston & maine's, and the paint scheme was created by me, w/o influence from any RR.

Now I'm AMP'd
Was looking at some satellite maps on Google last night and came across this in Chicago. Its a factory or probably an out building for the steel mill nearby. Where the arrow is pointing looked like a familar structure. Zooming in, I found a roundhouse complete with bridge still intact. But there is no tracks going to it, no escape tracks.
Looks to me like the roundhouse was incorparated into this building after some time.

Does anybody know anything about this? Whats the history. Why did the keep the roundhouse intact, and build a building around it?

Since I couldn't figure out how to capture the image, I had to take a picture of my monitor.

Here's an angle on my layout that you usually don't see. It was taken through two different cameras. The first camera is on a permanant mounting. I use it to keep an eye on that part of the layout while trains are running.

This photo was taken with an old AIPTEK CCD Pencam.

And this one was taken with a Vivitar 3935.

Nice pics everybody. Ralph, nice depiction of Midway Stadium. Looks like a perfect place a a railfaning baseball lover to watch some KP&W action, while taking in some good old summer baseball.

Nice photos. I've had pretty much ZERO time to work on my layouts w/ school and football tryouts. I've usually had some time avalable, but I'm just to tired to take it, lol. Again, great work folks.

This is an example of what I meant: http://rr-fallenflags.org/misc-n/necr9537ass.jpg It's interesting that it happens to resemble this, because that makes it more believable. Few paint schemes are totally unique, and if your freelance scheme vaguely resembles a real one, that usually makes it believable.
