Good morning folks

It was 77 F on the way in this morning. The humidity was down from the previous days. Our high today is supposed to be 88 F. We had a tremendous thunderstorm roll through last evening. It had a lot of lightening and an amazing downpour. It was raining so hard we could barely see across our street and it rained like that for about an hour. Our street turned into a river and the intersection a few houses away was impassable at one point.

I almost finished the Mather stockcar. I began weathering wheels for two Intermountain steel reefers, two Atlas wood reefers, two Walthers USRA gondolas, and two P1K composite gondolas. I also cleaned off some of the accumulated junk from the layout. It was the best night of modeling in months!

I hope everybody has a good day.

Morning [probably be noon by the time I post this]. Humid and cloudy. Might rain again. Got errands to run. Slept late, drank coffee, watched TV, cooked breakfast and made sweet ice tea, watched TV and now ready to go out. This must be how retirement is suppose to be. Don't know but been retired for almost 5 years. Didn't even get Town calls. Will go by Town Hall this afternoon. Did win a Lionel NS box car on Choochoo for $21. Later

Better check, Chief - did the cable guy cut your phone? ;)

Hot hot hot in St. Louis. I was going to cut the lawn, but the knee is just feeling good again, so I'll give it another day. Big job at a friends' house on Saturday - maybe get to run the bobcat a little?

Nice pic, Jeffrey - hope your back is better!

EVENING ALL
An uneventful day train wise. I guess I just got lazy and watched some movies. I did take my evening walk though. Sat on the porch after until the rain came, not much gone already. Take care all...S.J.

Well let's see. I finally hauled out some of my HO Scale trains and started going over them. Found a few things broke on my Chessie engine but that can be fixed real easily. Also went through more of my N Scale trains to see if all were in great shape and it turned out they are. Then I had to put them away as my fiance and daughter showed up to spend the day with me. All in all I had a great day. It was a little hot but hey can't complain. It is supposed to be a nice weekend. :D :D

Good morning folks

It was 74 F on the way in to the office. It feels like the humidity is creeping back in. High today will be 89 F with sun.

My daughter had a basketball game last night. Her team won 34 to 17. She didn’t have any points but had plenty of rebounds, some assists, and a few key steals. The gym was had no air-conditioning or fans. There was only one set of doors that could be opened at one end. As result it was stifling in there. My daughter’s team was playing shorthanded which meant every girl had a lot of floor time. Given the conditions in the gym I was amazed no one passed out.

I finished weathering and sealing the wheels. I began weathering the trucks on the reefers and gondolas.

This weekend has the grocery store trip and the pet food store trip. My wife is working all day Saturday and the kids will be going to a birthday party Saturday afternoon. I have not be told what Sunday holds for us.

I would like to finish weathering the reefers and gondolas.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Afternoon from Town Hall. Been at Environmental Services Comm. meeting in Raleigh. Came back by Miss Edna's [Todd's Train Depot]. Looks liek rain but was suppose to fair off. Got to load some extra 2X4's [left over from layout building] in truck to take to Frankie's early tomorrow morning. Going to spend the day building his work bench, putting up air lines and adding some electrical outlets in his massive two car garage [big enough for three]. Later

I don't know how you guys do it !! A lot of you are on multiple forums, (not refferring to CTT only), how in the world do you find the time to post on them? There is a lot of real friendly people here, I just can't keep up.

Please don't think I'm trying to be elusive, but I run out of time. (Didn't even wish Marcie a Happy Birthday! Really Sorry about that!!)

Maybe someday I'll learn to manage time better.

BEST WISHES TO ALL !!

I'm doing just fine. I was doing some work on my own forum this morning (
clickable from my signature) then got sidetracked by a request to help move an old refrigerator off one of my neighbor's porches. Little did I know that it had a very large wasp nest in it populated by a bunch of very angry wasps. We had their number, Hotshot took care of them. From there it was into town to work on a couple of computers. That kept me busy until six pm.

Jeffery will check out your forum this weekend. Miss the daily pic:mrgreen:

Yea I check in on the forums in between Jobs and work around the home:cry:

Have not been on OGR or MTJ just here and CTT lately.

Table 2,3,and 4 are now in place in the basement. will do some minor rework on table 1 and get the plywood in the morning and a 4 foot light fixture to replace the one leftover(cobbled together) from the previous owners junk before placing tables in posistion. Also need to order 36 t-nuts and adjustable feet then the real fun starts track work:twisted:

Another day working on the sun room to make space for the layout. Like most things, it is turning out to be a bigger job than I first thought, and it looks like the location for the layout is going to be a real technical challenge.

Sigh...life used to be so much simpler.

It's not as hard as you think. I myself belong to 10-15 train forums. I check all of them at night, but this is my first stop in the morning before anything.

Well I had a great day again today. Spent time with the family. Did a few things around the firehall that needed to be done so no one will come to me with it and say it needs done. Tomorrow I will be away after 11 a.m as I have a wedding to go to. I will not be back until after 6-7 p.m. So keep this place under control guys.sign1 Have A Good One. Stay Safe.

Good morning.

It's 75 and mostly clear. It's due to become partly cloudy later (opposite of mostly clear?) and the high is expected the hit the mid 90's.

Yesterday was interesting to be sure. First I did some work on my own forum (nothing major) then got a request to help move an old refrigerator. Nobody said anything about there being a very large wasp nest in it, to say nothing of the dozens of very pissed off wasps that were tending it. A major application of Hot Shot flying insect killer put them to rest, permanently. The fridge has a sprung door and therefore won't close completely. My father and I are going to rig it with chains and locks and store gas cans in it. With the bum door there won't be any build-up of fumes and the chance of wasps building in there again is minimal. By this time it was noon. I received an email from a friend of mine asking me to come over and look at a couple of computers. From what I could see it was obvious that his anti-virus program wasn't working. Norton, go figure. I downloaded AVG free 8.0 onto the systems and let it do it's thing. Within thirty minutes both systems had been purged of viruses, Trojans and spy-ware. I got a $30 computer power supply (AT type) for my trouble, so we both got something we needed.
