I know its been awhile since I posted anything of substance on the forums, and I know a lot of people want me to make more aircraft models, but I'm very distractable, so you have to expect me to keep making whatever I want. Sorry.

Anyway, I sometimes browse the 4chan.org /po/ section (papercraft and origami). I was asking about a papercraft warrior bug from Starship Troopers, not really expecting to get anything, but instead I got a 2.5-D gaming model designed by Jim Hartman. It wasn't quite what I wanted, but I decided to use it to create what I did want; a fully 3-D model of the arachnid warrior.

This first build is rather small, it fits (barely) in my palm. I'm going to build another larger warrior soon (maybe start on it tonight), in scale with my Master Chief action figure. I'm thinking if I can put pipe cleaners in it I can actually make the joints move without a lot of hassle, and while making them stiff enough to hold a pose.

Anyway, for those of you actually reading my post, I'm sure you're waiting for some pictures, here you go:

Oh, btw, once I add proper credits to Jim Hartman, and one final piece, I'll post the template on my website for everyone to download.

How cool! I wanted one of these ever since I found out about the Starship Troopers board game(not the miniatures one, the old paper/pencil game. I'm a sucker for those). Now we just need a guy in power-armor to combat- er, display alongside this model. :D

Some of the same community I'm sure. I imagine a lot of the older people here don't frequent /po/ though.

Also, the Warrior Bug is now posted in the "Other" section on my website.

Good use of the English language! Don't apologize for doing what you want. I have found in life that for every person with time and skill, there is another quite willing to direct him/her on how best to use it.

And, like others, the work you are willing to share is of such quality none dare quibble about that which you choose not to do!

BTW, Warrior Bug is one of the coolest Sci-Fi monsters ever! I have been wanting a model of one ever since the movie came out. Thank you for sharing it with us!

I think the fact that it is small and fairlyu simple to build is a real asset. As has already been mentioned, one Bug on it's own looks good.... but a HORDE is what you want to see, and a big and complex model won't lend itself to that. Would make a terrific diorama with a dozen of these breaking out of a bug-hole!

Trust me, I've been thinking about what that would look like for awhile. I doubt I'd have the patience to do it, but hopefully someone else who does, and maybe can't afford hordes of those expensive plastic models can actually do it now (thats one of the things I love about card modeling).

Hopefully it can be scaled up to the right size to add to any existing diorama too.

It's already available Don! Just came back and downloaded my copy, very nice design! --I'm anxious to see Paragon building a horde of this!!

P: Posting a link to 4ch is likely to be off-limits here on Zealot, but it sure is an interesting community there... just a thought :p
