Didn't have very much time today to build but did manage to finish one the side skirts. The fit on this kit is outstanding.

Hah! One simple, statement....that carries the weight of _hours_ within those words. The wheels look great.. I'll bet you felt like you'd made a million of them by the time you were finished! ; )

You can say that again. Tabless construction always adds another level to the build. Thanks for the comments.

Here's the last of the wheels. I saved the most fiddly for last. All I have left is the tracks.

I need your help.

When I created this contest and laid down the rules, I had every intention of following them. I need a decision from the forum on my entry to be fair and not to disqualify myself. As I started on the tracks I noticed that the teeth on them are not represented on the parts page. They are however represented on the instructions. (I have noted them in red). Can I consider them as additional parts that the builder furnishes like wire parts or clear acetate? By fabricating them am I violating my own rules? I really would like to add them. I look forward to everyone's comments.

Hmmm, they are represented in the instructions....
Here's something derived from the Contest page:

Toddlea:"....The addition of wire, plastic or other materials is acceptable only if directions call for it or the reproduction of existing parts that already exist in paper."

Judging by the fact that those are basically the "Directions: I think it would be alright if you add it :/ But hey, that's just me.

I second that. :thumb:

Just cut them out of colored cardstock -
no need to print = no need to add a free download.

Besides which, as for you laying down the rules,
no way is Toddlea an anagram of
Robert Mugabe.

Good luck with those tracks - you're going to need it.

I third that! And I would also include the designers' own photos of the finished model (since that's often all one gets as "directions" in a free model).

If the designer felt they should be there, than you should get to put them in too says I.

Finished one track and installed. Those teeth took a lot of time but I think they were worth it. Just the other side to go.

Finished!!!...

Here it is. 4 months and over 500 parts later. My overall impression of this kit is very good. Fit is excellent and not over-engineered. I highly recommend this kit for an experienced builder. Thanks Nobi for making this one available.

Big well done yours looks much better then mine, I never thought to double up the hatches and the other parts it looks better like that. The tracks also look better although having built all those wheels there was no way I was going to make all those teeth as well. The kit is very accurate the fit is perfect although my hull didn't quite join up on the underside not sure why it fitted all the way round perfectly so I can't see how it was a build error. Funny you say that tab less construction is more difficult I find it much easier plus there's less cutting to do:thumb:

Oh one more thing did you make up part 2b as it was missing from the kit? if you search the forum I think Nobi put up a 3d drawing of the part.

Great build. :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Those tracks are the piece de resistance.
(No, I don't know what that means either.)

Good luck in the competition.:thumb:

Thanks for the comments. If Nobi posted a drawing of the hitch piece, I haven't found it. No plans to weather it. Might if I put it in a diorama.
