Question About Flex Track

Huh. You're right. I didn't think it would be that much cheaper, but list price at Walthers is $3.69 for MP vs 5.99 for Atlas!
Historically MP's track was made by Roco, who had some excellent products. I haven't seen the MP flex, so I can't comment on the quality.
If you've got an LHS that has both, I'd put the two side-by-side and do some comparing. If the rails don't slop around in the ties they way they do in the Atlas code 100 flex, I'd say go for it!

if modelpower track is anything like there other products it cant be that good 
. but id say overall go with better quality track like ME or something,itll be worth it.--josh

I always considered the MP code 100 flex a little superior to Atlas code 100 in appearance. I didn't know MP had entered the code 83 market. If you are planning on ordering enough for a whole layout, I would hesitate until you actually see the product. If the LHS has some, check it with an NMRA gauge and inspect the appearance. If all looks well, I can't see anything else that would be wrong with it...

Actually it gets sheaper than that. I have found if I buy bulk (which I am going to do) I have got the price of Atlas flex down to $2.70 per piece, and I have got model power down to $1.59. If atlas is tht much better the prece difference is notheing.
I was jsut wondering if there is a reason that Model power is so much cheaper. I guess trying them side by side would be best.

ME is the choice for many experienced modelers, but the price and difficulty to work with has me a little nervous about using it (flex track)
I do like their turn outs. I just wish that they would make more than #6

i am using ME flex and it is normally no more difficult to use than any other flex i've used.never tried there turnouts but i am using CV turnout kits and there the best track buy i've ever made. even with the price of extra stock rails its peco quality and is very detailed.along with being curvable.--josh
I have model power flex track i find it a little stiffer to work with, does not flex as nice as the atlas track, i think mine is the code 100 , it works well with the MP and atlas turn outs

I'm using Atlas Code 83. Yeah its pricey, but I've been using it for years, and on different layouts without any problems, except kinking under the extreme heat of the attic. Like a fool, I had soldered everything, not taking in account for expansion..........Live and learn
I have used MP flex track with no problems..I like it as much as I do my first choice Atlas..
BTW..Tho' you didn't ask I have also use their switches with great success.
I am not above using MP track along with my Atlas track.
