Good morning.

It's foggy out here by the lake this morning and it's a pleasant 73 degrees. It'll clear to mostly cloudy conditions and the high is expected to be in the low 90's.

I'll be heading out to Alexandria shortly for an eye exam which will probably take most of the day. I don't much like the idea of someone looking around inside my eyes with their finger on the trigger of a laser.

Good morning folks

It was an ugly 81 F as I headed off this morning. Today’s high is supposed o be 99 F. We are still under an Excessive Heat Warning as this is the third day of the heat wave. Tomorrow is supposed to be 99 F also. Wednesday is supposed to be in the mid-80’s.

I am in recovery mode from the weekend. We went camping with my son’s Cub Scout pack over the weekend. Friday was bad with temperature around 95 F. We slept in the tent that night. Actually around 4 AM it was cool enough that I had to crawl into the sleeping bag. Saturday was brutal with temperatures around 97 F. The scouts did their hike in the morning and then did some activities around the camp. After lunch they went fishing. After they got back we had the water gun fight which everyone scouts, parents, and siblings got soaked. We did the traditional campfire stuff of stories and songs at dusk. Sunday we broke camp and came home to air conditioning. It was a good trip. Our Webelos earned two activity badges, and everyone earned a couple of sports belt loops or pins. September’s pack meeting will have a goodly number of awards for the boys who went. Right now my van is only half emptied. I have a bunch of stuff that has to go back to the scout closet at the church.

No modeling got done this weekend.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Morning all. Lotsa storms here over the weekend - tornados and the like. Everything very green with all the rain. Managed to dodge the worst. Even managed to take dinner guests to sit in the sun by the lake- 'course ran trains for them later. They loved Thomas. "Lionel product" was in the Sunday crossword - answer "train set"

Good Afternoon everyone!
Trying to catch up on some of the past few day's posts. On camping, do it most years in Colorado for Elk hunting. Not too bad, but has been known to go from 70 degrees to -20 in one day. Have had wolves come through the camp and a bear, but that is rare. The one part that can be a bit tough for us comfort types, going for 10 days without a bath or shower. Can get a bit ripe towards the end of the trip.
:-oDid some more ordering for my "Father's Day" presents. Bride is letting me get away with a lot this year. Have not received the "Stimulus Check" yet, but did get a nice size state refund check this week. Now we just need to see what else the wife will let me get!
John (across the pond), I am a student of history and from what I recall, the Brits helped out the south with rifles, etc., so I don't think you need to sign the pledge. Just please don't tax our Grits!
Hope everyone has a blessed week ahead.

Well, the doc at the Alexandria Eye and Laser Center didn't get to play with his laser today, at least not on my eyes. The swelling that was present in them three months ago has greatly reduced since the original laser treatment. The bleeding at the back of the eyes has been reduced considerably as well. This is mostly due to me being very careful about what I eat. Some foods that are good for others are not so good for me. Wheat bread is one example. One slice of wheat bread will blow my blood sugar level through the roof! It's at the top of the glycemic index for bread. White is next down on the list followed by rye, then sourdough and finally Pumpernickel, at the bottom of the index. I've developed quite a taste for German style Pumpernickel bread.

:thumb: That sounds like some good news Jeffery.
As a diabetic myself I know how much on guard we have to be about what we eat and the general healthof our body as well.
I have feet problems no cracks but they are super dry and need attention every day.
I cut one yard of grass today will get the other two after I return from work tomarow.

Good Evening
The storm that was suppose to stay south of Detroit grew as it moved SE and is now leaving the area. 90s today, lower tomorrow. Stayed inside today did some reading and a few laps with a train or two. Add a short nap and that covers my day. Have a good tomorrow....S.J.

Checking in before hitting the hay. Tomorrow I need to run the track cleaning car on all of the loops and hand clean the sidings. Then house clean the layout room. Just finished watering the garden and some of the flowers. Waited until it cooled down a little.

Ozzy, Glad to see you posting again.

Jeffrey, Take good care of those eyes.

No
Stimulus Check here yet, but I did get a big box from Bob Thatcher containing an Atlas icing platform kit and 4 new cars. Think I will tell him he has to wait for his check till I get mine.:thumb: Those 3 Express Reefers are beauties. Also got a Kimberly Clark covered hopper.

Ozzy! Good news man, keep us posted and keep that chin up, we're all pulling for you.

We spent our stimulus check already. New toilet for kids - no blockages so far and that's after Father-In-Law visited too! Success! Also repainted bathroom and both kids rooms, bought a new washer, preordered a Lionel 0-4-0 switcher with TMCC, bought some dvds, and I think my wife is getting an Ipod - interesting since that money already ran out. Guess it's more OT for Jimmy.

Jeffrey, good news on the eyes - keep up the good work. I was always partial to those dark breads anyway, yummy! Hey, did you see my question before? Is that the end of a baseball diamond you added?

Logicman and Baker are siding with the South now? Hmmm, well, I like Grits, so no worries here! Sir James might want to keep a low profile though!

Slept well last night, unusually for me.
Looks like the start of a nice warm day.

It's not politics, I assure you. More to do with the South's superior driving skills. (click me)

My best wishes and prayers to all, and most especially our friends with health problems.

Good morning.

It's 75 degrees at this time and mostly cloudy. The high is expected to top out in the low 90's and there's a good chance of thunderstorms later.

Gotta head out later to see the foot doc again. The wounds are slowly healing up but not fast enough to suit me. I'd like this business to be over with so I can get sized up for a new pair of shoes.

Brutus: A picture is worth a thousand words. Todays photo holds the answer to your question about the baseball diamond.
