Can anyone tell me how thick the stock sheet of Cannon & Company Safety Tread is? All I get from various searches is the length and width of the sheet. Not all that helpful without the thickness, IMO.

I think its somewhere around .005" or .010".
I myself used Plano tread plate, its about .008" thick, I think.

Thanks, Josh! :thumb: For my application, thinner is definately better! .005 would be MUCH better than .010. Is the Plano brass or plastic?
Every thing I've seen from Cannon is extremely thin. Probably as thin as they could make it and still get it out of the mold! Everything I've seen from Plano is photo etched metal at very close to scale thickness. In my opinion, if you are modeling something like diamond plate, Canon would be the way to go; but if you are modeling any sort of open grid material, go with Plano.

I just got my first, of 3 planned (so far) Railflyer chassis. Very impressive. Can't wait to get the detail bundles, so I can see the quality of the tread plate.
Galen, I didn't notice your last question when I responded before. I think Plano is etched stainless steel, but they may also have etched brass.
