Here in Bucyrus things can get busy..I took these pictures Sunday and ended up playing hookie from the Bucyrus HO club.
If you look close you can see a W&LE whoa up at a absolute stop indication at COL/SAN as a NS train rattles the diamonds.

Now the Wheeling gets wheeling as the engineer puts the whip to 'em.

Then later we hear dueling horns from 2 trains!
First we see CSX rolling a cut of stone picked up at National Lime Stone at Spore heading toward Crestline.

Then a NS trains rounds the connector heading East toward Columbus.

Check those high loads of stone.

Went back Monday and caught these oddities.

Hey Larry...I see you're back in your "country club" setting watching those trains roll by....Keep up the good work....(Yeah...I know....It's a lot of work, but somebody's gotta do it....).

Gus,The NS has a contract with of the local contractors to cut the grass once a week..While this is a good spot to railfan it has limited photo spots due to the numerous electric and telephone poles.
I try to be creative with my photos and try not use the same spot over..I took 19 pictures Sunday..Seven was deleted because the poles "jumped" into the photos.wall1

Nice catch on the BNSF Thundercab / NS SD60 combo. And that is one ugly Wheeling unit, too!

Great pictures! I love that BNSF and those CSX's and the NS's, who am I kidding, I love big power! What a great place to watch trains! The green grass and trees make for a great location.I would love to be at a crossing to hear a train going over it. Nolatron once had a video online of a coal train going over a crossing, that was a great sound.

Scott,It is a beautiful place to railfan.I am told eventually there will be railroad museum inside of the T&OC station and perhaps a caboose on display.

As RailOhio can vouch the place for crossing diamond sounds in this area has to be Marion with its double track diamonds.

What exactly is up with the Wheeling unit? It's not their usual Rio Grande copy scheme. I'll assume it's a patch job - or is it even a W&LE at all, or just a leaser? - but from who?
