Shinkasen turning radius?

I've been looking at getting a Japanese Bullet train for N-scale, either KATO or TOMIX.

What are the minimum and reccomended radii for these long trains?

I've got the Kato version. It'll take 9-3/4 but it looks funny. 11" is a lot better. Obviously, the bigger the radius the better. I don't have a clue what the recommended radius is.

Trainnut, will it stay on the track at full speed going around a 9 3/4 radius curve?
(with a quizical raised eyebrow) :eek:Hmmm, now that's something I can't admit to having tried just yet. It very well might as it's a very stable train (not top heavy). I dunno, if I ever try it, I'll let you know.

It *is* a BULLET train...

I'd think a Shinkasen would be the one model where you push the throttle knob all the way to max in order to be prototypical

which one?

Which of the KATO models do you have?

a little research shows they reccommend 315mm (12-3/8") track for units like the Nozomi 500.
