Tortoise Not Stalling

Have a tortoise that no longer stalls at the end of the throw. It keeps riunning. I have looked at it but don't see any solution. Is there something magic in the tortoise that causes it to stall?
Many thanks,
Jim

Maybe you should post this in "The Gauge" discussions, rather than in "The Zealot" website support forum.

Just a thought, but you might get more hits. ;)

Does it keep clicking when it keeps running?

My guess is(and its just a guess) that there is a micro-switch inside, activated by some cam device. Not only will this micro-switch, shut the motor off, but can be used to activate an insulated track, relay or a LED on your control panel.
My guess is that the cam may have slipped, or may even be broken.
Mind you....this is all a guess.

I don't think the motor ever shuts off. It runs till a point rail is up against a stok rail, then stalls, keeping pressure against the stock rail. The motor is still running (but in place!) Perhaps the one in question is just noisy? Do you still get good pressure against the stock rail?

It should stall, not stop running. Well, it stops moving when it stalls, but it is still pushing! If it is still turning inside I would guess a gear is turning on a shaft, or something like that. Might be repairable, but probably a good chance of destruction in trying to fix it.

I was saying if it kept moving it would be making a clicking noise which we had at the club i was in, in florida. After a certain amount of time/uses (a lot!!) the plastic becomes worn and the gear/shaft becomes out of place. All it takes is some brass tubing glued in the place where the gear/shaft would normally be and presto it's fixed. I wished i had taken pictures of the "broken" ones. I prefer not to open up one of my "new to me" tortoises. Maybe I'll find one online and post it.
