Dennis, sorry old buddy. Buckeye, one piggy dropped off and the other who oinks just like him, has taken over. Funny, identical oink.

In Charlotte/Concord in hotel room. Visited store. All setup right. Bought more .22 and .17 ammo. All ammo on sale 10% off. Bought very high powered airrifle [.17]. Has scope too. Now shoot squirrels and etc in town and all you hear is a loud pooof. [:O] Got it with a discount too. [:D] Out for some dinner. [dinner] Then popcorn [room has microwave and frig]. Brought groceries with me from Roseyville. Later

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts. Thanks also for the call Chief. Y'all are true friends. Took the family out for dinner tonight....just to get away, and one of the guys with the movie edit team is in town for the week, so we took him along. They are working very long hours and it was a good break.

I know this is common with many who suffer a loss, when you go into a room, you expect to see him there. It will get easier over time, but we will remember the good dog he was and cherrish that memory.

God Bless,
Dennis

Dennis, so sorry to hear about your dog, bro. It's never easy and I still miss a pet bird who passed about 20 years ago. God bless and hang in there. I hope your children are okay and understand too.

Jeff, hope you had good luck at doctor. Really nice pic, but I think that steamer could be salvaged by a top crew!

Good Evening All.....

Had a busy day, went into the office, shipped a bunch of stuff. Then got the afternoon off !!!

Went to a "not so favorite" LHS, just to get some track screws. Of course they didn't have any don't carry them either. The only they have is nails. Asked about a catalog, and they wanted $2 each. So didn't say anything just walked out.

Then over to Radio Shack to see about some banana connectors, of course they don't know what I'm talking about and don't have them either. (Got the last ones there about 6 months ago, and they are in the catalog)

So back home and mowed the lawn and did some trimming. (5 lawn size bags). Everything is growing like crazy since we had all the rain and now 75-80 degree weather.

Think I'm having a philosophical reversal on some train operating opinions. I looked at some various videos about guys that simulate protypical train operations and previously thought it was almost insane. After going toour train club for a couple of years, the only thing that is done is running around in a 1500 foor circle following each other. The most sifnificant concern is not rear ending anyone or being rear ended. Seems "some" prototypicall activity could be interesting, configuring a train, trying to run a brief schedule, make some predefined drop offs, and return. Will need to think on that.

Dennis - Sorry to hear about your DOG, never is easy.

BTW Brutus - You wanta bird???? Got one -- NO Problem, YOURS....,

Cockatel, says - "Whatcha been doing?" Scotty's a pretty bird, Scotty's a good bird. BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO SEND HIM YOUR WAY!

ALSO LAZ, John F,
has a bear that will make your 80 lb bear look like a little "puddy cat", you need to ask him about it !!!!!

Glad to hear the school board issue and all the "forms" got resolved.

Don:  Banana Plugs! I could just imagine what the 'help' in the store were thinking they would be used for! wall1

Dennis: Sorry about your loss.

Need to drop off Pre-School application for the eldest today. No word from former pastor. I'll drop off the recommendation form letter at the office, and see what happens. Meanwhile, we'll ask for a letter of recommendation from friends that have children in the same school.

Need to pick-up blasting sand, still working on color matching the silver paint on the crane. Looking forward to Sunday's Train Show. Tom of Warren's Model Trains Parts will be missed.

Good morning folks

Cold, this morning. It was 17 F as I headed to work. High today should reach 37 F. We have snow moving in for later this afternoon. Or course none of the weather mis-forecasters can agree on when it will start, how much we will get, or if it will turn to rain.

No modeling last night. The kids, the wife, and I wound up trying to figure out a computer puzzle/mystery game together. It was fun but a little problematic with all four of trying to see the computer screen at once.

This weekend will be busy. Tomorrow we have Cub Scout Day at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. My daughter then has a birthday party sleepover to attend. On Sunday the kids have baseball and softball try-outs. Also I am sure we will continue the saga of trying to replace the blinds in my son’s room.

I need to figure out what project to start next. I guess I should tidy up the layout and workbench first.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Morning all. Kurt, the silver paint numbers deletion excuse made me laugh. Never before has he never been afraid of giving out wrong information. :curse: Has been caught giving it out and when pointed out, gone back and deleted it. Ask Buckeye. Good luck on that project. Sorry guys. Ususal oink problem. announce1
Off to the store after the big breakfast down stairs. Holdiay Inn Express now has big hot breakfast. Later

Don, I will check, but the source for my Fastrack screws had them at my door a day later and were much cheaper than any place I could find. I inquired with a hobby shop I do business with, he told me he can buy the Atlas track screws for about $20 for 1000, and sell them for $0.50 each. It would be worth it to buy them from a hardware source vs hobby shop. If you want, I will try to see where I got the Fastrack screws.

I hope everyone is doing well today. Thanks again for the sympathies. Starting to come to terms, but the reminders are everywhere.

We have my father in law coming down on Saturday, so I guess the layout will be on hold, but perhaps I can get some time in early in the morning.

May everyone have a blessed day and weekend.
God Bless,
Dennis

DON,
For my fast track I used 1 inch drywall screws they worked great. The #4, 1/2 inch screws were for regular 0-27 track.

Morning all. Can't believe I missed visiting for a whole day. Dennis, my condolences and prayers are with you. Kurt, thanks for the heads-up about the crane. I'm looking for a 'breakdown' crane that would work on 027 curves. Any ideas? Milestone from yesterday: called the high school to arrange for the middle boy to go in the fall. He's been home-schooled up to now, and is excited for this next step of his life. :thumb:

Thanks guys for all the screw information! I had gotten (good English, huh), some Gargraves screws from a shop here, about 70 miles away. They were cheap and perfect. Didn't want to pay for shipping and do a credit card transaction for such a small amount. So thought certainly the other store should have them. But actually should have known better. Its not a problem, I can pick some up at Lowes.

Regarding the Banana Plugs, I did check the drawers. Was trying to avoid the clerks, didn't want to go through the training process. It used to be we had 3 really good electronic component stores here, now all of them are gone.

Looking forward to Monday night, Lionel's west coast rep, is going to be doing a Legacy Demo. (This is the good LHS).

Hope everyone has a great day !!

Dennis - My condolences and good karma your way!! :( I've lost a few really cherished pets... Never easy.. never gets easier....

Don - :D :D I sympathize!!! I've helped set up a few "real" Radio Shacks in the early 80's - you remember.. the ones with a Tube Order Catalog sitting on the counter.. for those "not so old" radio sets????:eek::eek:

Real shelves and wall hooks FULL of transistors, resistors, thyristors and the "Brand new" 555 IC timers :D

And this is only MY opinion... Now they are just glorified electronic toy stores... batteries, and a few video thingys and other 'stuff" (Being nice here)

Awww well...... Things have to change, I guess.......
