Back at work. Left dog at Vet this morning. Got a call later that he is on IV antibiotics, pain medication. His glucose was down to 33, and they are checking why. That is extremely low. His belly is rigid which is another concern, but they have to get him comfortable before taking X-rays. He has a fever which may indicate infection. So right now we just wait.

Not much going on with cases today. Have some follow ups to do, but not much else. Hope to get home as it was a rough night dealing with the dog.
Take care,
Dennis

Afternoon!

Been working on the 182 Crane. Arrived yeaterday. My first crane. The more I see of this Lionel engineering I am truely amazed. They really knew what they were doing.
If you're not familiar...The crane operates with a pinion gear. They used celeniods and forks to push 'axle' gears into position and lock into place. Left operates the winch, and right turns the crane. Double wound coil means forward and reverse. Amazing!

Just dissassembly for now...no superises yet...just dirty, and smelling of cigars. Funny...the more stuff I buy the more I find smelling of cigars! LOL!

Still need to identify silver paint. Funny...someone gave advice...came back this afternoon and erased it all. Wierd.

Off to feed the children.

Dennis, praying and hoping. Keep us informed.

Had a great trip. Company paid for vehicle [Dodge Nitro SUV that I did not know existed] and gas. Got to do a side trip by Mom's [only a few miles out of the way]. Got to pack for Charlotte/Concord BPS tomorrow after meeting with Wake County Public Schools. They are going to catch it over the consent, how to dress and what not to say form they made a fellow Mayor sign. The High Sheriff would not sign it and refused to speak to the schools like he had down in the past. Off to feed deer and then eat dinner. Later.

Doug...What do you mean silly? I am calling the schools in Roseyville and tell them that they are being very smart in keeping the rift raft from the shools.

Chief...I see the Oinker is really pigging out today.

Tied up in St Augustine tonight. Weather on TV can't decide if temp is going to or below 32, so I've drained the water hose and turned on the holding tank heaters. Why did we come to Florida?

Yeah, David - my friend in Orlando said it was to be 35 this morning? I hope it warmed up....

Dennis, good luck with the dog - hope all is well!

Chief, don't sign anything - it's a trick! Or, use your super disappearing grits based ink trick?

Rt - good luck on the porch, if I lived closer I'd help you out bro.

Doug - those cards are a great idea! Kurt and Doug - Ross or Gargraves makes track for that crane I think?

Jeff - great pic, again -- that water tower turned out terrific!

Yes, and he has a twin. It smells so piggy I think I will let things ride for a while over there. Some of the usual lies too. Off to bed. Reclinerized too long. Breakfast meeting wiht Mayors and Wake County Schools early. Good night.

Morning!
Doug & Brutus: The 182 is a stationary crane. Similar to the 165. Not very big. Sits on the side of the tracks.

Not much happening here today...maybe take the girls out to an indoor playground. Promised friends I'd take care of their snow removal while they're in AZ, need to do that today. I thought we were getting more snow, so I didn't get it cleaned up. So It's chores for me, and some trains!

Good morning folks

It was 18 F as I rolled out of the driveway. The wind chill, however, had temperatures feeling like 4 F. High today is supposed to be 31 F.

I am having a bit of a rough morning. The foot is really bothering me this morning. The pain is about 7 or 8. It took me a while to get going this morning because walking was so difficult. I think standing on so much last night during the pack Meeting had something to do with it. This is the worst flare up in about a year. I am waiting for the pain medication to take the edge off.

No modeling last night since we had Cub Scout Pack Meeting.

I hope everybody has a good day.

:sad:Sad day on this end. Got a page from wife. Dog died in his sleep last night at the vet's. Was a great dog, had him longer than I have known wife. He was comfortable and I suppose things went as well as they could. At least he didn't suffer as long as other dog that we had to have put down last year. I look at it as I have been blessed to have had him for as long as I did. He will be missed.

Don't really feel much like chatting. Have a long day here before I can get to the family. Hope everyone has a blessed day.
God Bless,
dennis

Morning All
Dennis I'm sorry to hear about your loss, pets do become part of the family.
We have sun and 18 degrees right now more of that wonderful snow is forecast for tonite.oh joy. Went out to run some errands and ask the wife before I left if the streets through the sub were clear, since our street leads to the school we usually get at least some clearing. Anyway she told me they were clear. So I drove home through the sub to find 70 percent were covered with ice.All ice. she said well I got home ok and I said.I did too but that was not what I ask you.Sound like anyone you know? S.J.

Hi GIZ,
DENNIS my deepest condolences for you. I too had to bury my neighbors dog last summer. Great little guy, took him for a daily walk everyday for about 4 years. I still miss him. My dog when she goes will be the same, I'll miss her, big time.
15 and cold here.
Later,

Dennis,
I usually just lurk around here at the caboose but I had to tell you my heart goes out to you. Losing a 4 legged member of the family is so hard. You are in my prayers.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. They may not be people but they sure find a way to become a member of the family and they are always missed.
