A few picts showing the area

lol, this thread is more my stuff (as boring as it is). Atleast keep to the spirit of my railroad, lol. whats with the steam? Anyways, i need to take more pictures. my new SEPTA AEM7 came today, I should take pictures of that. I also got an 8 car NJ transit train running smoothly, but its so big that it would be better to make a video of it. I think i will do that.

Well, I did as I said I would for once!

First off, here is a video of NJ transit #958

YouTube - New Jersey Transit #958 in HO scale by CAB

while i'm at videos, here is a real train that passes through my town every once in a while.

YouTube - CA 20 in Hainesport, NJ, February 15, 2008

Here are photos of SPAX (commonly known as SEPTA) #2305

#2305 heads northbound.

the toaster approaches the station.

It looks like these guys missed their train! #2305 goes into push mode and leaves the station.

Going back and forth all day maybe monotonous, but its faster than using a wye.

I've hade a SEPTA AEM7 for ages, but this is a new one, since my old one hit the floor. I use the old one for spare parts. I might get an amtrak GG1 if i get an NEC style layout. otherwise i think i'm going to stick to my various E60s, AEM7s and HHP8s.

In other news, i casted my first detail part today, the big electrical box on the AEM7s, because they don't stock that spare part on atlas anymore.

nah, i'd have less stuff on the floor if

A). i thought about taking my SD7 off my laout before i moved it, and

B). if those old SEPTA cars wouldn't derail every five seconds and then drag my old AEM7 off the layout while in push mode.

Already, i'm running into problems. the frame won't fit the locomotive right. the frame sits to high so the shell is to high and it won't match the coupler holders on it, while lowering the shell to correct for the height of the frame leaves an unrealistic amount of space between the bottom of the shell and the fuel tanks.

good LORD this forums LAGS!

So, what are you going to do, GEC?

Edit:

It took me ten minutes to post this.

9:30 trying to get the page to scroll down

0:30 typing and posting.

...

I think this forum worked better when it was just "the-gauge" and not "Zealot"

SoC,
There are plenty of other train sites out there that "appear" to be faster. If your not content here, perhaps it would be of benefeit to check them out.

Remember...it's for fun!
A number of us here, including myself, have had problems with the forum being very slow at times but many have found that using Mozilla Firefox as a browser has helped with speed issues. Give that a try if you haven't already.

For what its worth department I have in the past had problems loading post but lately have had no problems. What I did in the past that seemed to help ,for some odd reason was go advance and click post there. I am also running firefox.

I don't remeber you geting the "toaster", but it looks pretty neat in my opinion. What's next, a GG1 in Amtrak deco?

A GG1 it is then!

I just recently recieved the George Roberts Printing Inc. Building that i had originally planned to use in the layout. Only after being unable to find that building for a while did i switch over an buy American Hardware Supply instead. Now that i have the building, I'm wandering what would look better, so here are a few pictures to help you help me choose.

Meanwhile, for the past couple years, american hardware supply has stood at this spot.
