Solo? whaddaya mean?
Hey SJ. Just want to say you're doing a great job on this. I know it's become a solo project to you but I want you to know I'm still in if you want to get another ship from the fleet out there.
I've just been too busy to assist with testbuilding parts of the Galactica lately.
Sorry I've not been of much use.
Whaddaya mean solo? More like slow-mo. Maybe once every couple weeks I get the energy to sit down and get a bit more done, then I realize what I messed up last time, fix that, then make a little progress.....
Don't feel bad at all about test building. Nothing has been there when the need arose. That's teamwork!
As for doing another ship in the meanwhile, I'm finding I just don't have the time. When I do get time I'd rather spend it on the GAL and get her done, then I can move on to the next ship on our list.
I reworked the area around the landing bay arms yesterday to make them closer to how it appears in the show. Once I integrate those changes here's what's left:
1) Make some flat (2D) cannons to stick on it. Anyone want to tackle that for me?
2) Split the texture into smaller pieces and adjust textures on model parts. (Pepakura has a limit of 1024X1024 on textures, and this ship has a 2048X2048 texture map). To maintain the quality I've got to split up the texture into 1024X1024 pieces.
3) Do a zillion screen shots and get the model unfolded.
nothing, skupil, we talked sometime back about one of you doing the unfold and instructions for the front, one for the rear and I'd do the middle. Are you both still on board for that? Be honest if you've gotten too busy.
I'm really trying to get this baby done so I can start on my entry for the free model competition #3. Unfortunately I made the mistake of picking up seasons 2.0 and 2.5 on DVD last week, so that's occupying a little time too. Sorry about that! Oh yeah - I also ordered my CD of kooklik's type VII sub. It may be years before I can actually start on it, but I had to have it .
Hang in there everyone, it
will arrive.
