Good evening everyone. Did I miss anything in the last 10 days or so? Glad Chief is back and safe in friendly territory. It was a long meeting and had some fun with the family...but boy are we tired. Did have a great meal with a nice guy in Brutus. About 10 minutes after dropping him off, I told my bride that we forgot to get the photo. Anyway, the company was great and we enjoyed the food. Brutus, glad the family is in and safe. Sorry for wife's coworker. I hope she is able to let it go for the time so she can enjoy the mini vacation. It was nice to be in 80 degree sun for a while. It is in the 60s at home.

Unfortunately, we did not score any big deals on trains in Orlando. Went to one store, but prices were at or above retail. Got home last night and then son got sick about 4 am. Made for a very tiring day as I had to work. I am going to call it a night.

Madhatter and any history buffs, I won a eBay auction for a book from 1900 called "The War in South Africa" written by a captain in the army and it has plenty of photos and color drawings. I am looking forward to getting it.

Well, I will check in over the weekend. Hope Y'all have a blessed weekend.
Dennis

Reclinerized too much. Went to sleep as new came on. Think I was on it. Got interviewed after our big meeting with the Raleigh Mayor. Room is FINISHED!!! Got to take up the old carpet and haul it to the container site. No big thing with that. Pam's nephew and a buddy are suppose to come and help with that and move our old bedroom suite upstairs. Now big bedroom suite to be delivered tomorrow afternoon. Got ot get to Miss Edna's and drop off items that RT sent. Will be busy. Dennis, glad you made it home OK. Guess no trouble as you were not in enemy territory. Another Yank [Jim F] converted to good SOUTHERN cooking. Good night.

Morning!
Feeling better. 24-hours of chills and misery, and another 24-hours of simply feeling tired. Prepping today for the big game Sunday! Volleyball friends over for annual gathering.
Thanks,
Kurt

Jeffrey, Sure do enjoy your pictures! Keep 'em coming !!!

Sorry to hear for all you folk about Phil. We probably wont notice much difference here.

Gotta a few chores this morning, then working on more power drops. Ran some conventional stuff last night, really like the newer engines. What was cool is I have an Alaska diesel sound car. Sure made a big improvement when I put that on the tracks with the MPC diesels. Got to get busy!!

Morning all. Nice photos, Jeffrey. Brutus, I can't recall the actual page though it's in the full catalog - not the RtR one. 'Arry and Bert look cheap - Diesel's tooling with weirder truck 'covers'. The bride and I volunteered to serve a funeral today at church - I'll do video and she'll do everything else. ;) love older books -- I think we'll take some otherwise unoccupied teens to help too. Dennis, I love older books too. At that point in the Boer war, there would've been some interesting things to reflect about British tactics - concentration campus, block-houses, etc. I love to browse Powell's bookstore - which is located south of my office on Wabash avenue has lots of older RR books which are a blast to browse. Funny to see 'plates' showing USRA designs as the 'latest'.

Morning guys,

Ozzy, That is great news.

Jeffrey, enjoy your pictures every day, but there is a problem today, I don't think that AC is to scale.

As one who has hired some teenagers in the past. Yes, it is important to be able to hold a conversation (and speak up enough to be heard) as well as dress properly, some of them never got past the reception desk for that reason. My Dad used to say he liked to watch a job applicant walk across the parking lot to the office, by that time he had a good idea if they were worth interviewing or not.

A happy Groundhog Day to everyone.

Just a little reminder guys, Valentine Day is coming up in 12 days, be prepared! :thumb: Otherwise wall1

Goodies in the Lionel catalog: Jersey Central G3s Pacific and F3 set with heavy weight cars, PRR M1b Mountain and GP7, two sets of milk cars.

Everybody ready for the Super Bowl?

The Mich, rodent said early too. I was thinking of the Chief when Phil said six more weeks, wondering if he would be up for a little hunting trip in Pa. I had enough of winter right after thanksgiving.

AH, what day is it???? So tired. Since I got up, ripping up old carpet and pad [the carpet RR carpet is gone], been cleaning room, moving furniture, receiving new furniture, arranging new furniture and reinstalling things. Long day but did get by Miss Edna's late this afternoon. Animals fed. Now time to feed me. Room across the hall from train room is now in great shape with furniture from master bedroom. Master bedroom has new furniture. Shower and "comfey" clothes [wife's words for T-shirt, sweat pants and slippers]. Sir J, my visits might bring snow. It use to rain every where I went. Once to Dallas during a drought and it stormed [ask Roy]. If you mess with Mother Nautre or the Chief, we send you bad weather. Later.

Morning. Real warm here for Feb. Off to Wilmington NC to vist Grandson. Thomas time. :thumb: He has decided to walk and Grandma wants to go see that. Long drive to go and return the same day. Tired from moving all that furniture and etc. Slept good in new bed. I see on another forum, some guy on the west coast is eating chilli. Since the winds blow from west to east, I guess we are in for some foul air.:cry: Have a good one.

Good morning all, Lots going on today! Starting off with rain this morning. Kinda expected that, got all the work done in the back yard yesterday. (Update on son and gf's traffic accident, her car was totaled, her parents replacing it with a LEXUS, but no one hurt). I'm happy!

Hope to have time for Super Bowl, I want to see how many more power drops I can get done today. Had some friends over, and the Dad and 16 yr old ran some trains for awhile. They had a ball. I need to get the power better distributed. Wasn't an issue until the smoke units were all turned on.

Going to see about getting KIDS club activity going at our clubs meeting on Wednesday, so need to get stuff ready for that.

Talked w/Roy last night briefly, nice to have friends all over the place. Even in GB. BTW Roy, It seems you are right!!!

Got my York package in the mail yesterday, filled it out and changed the dates for 2009, think they will accept it, and hold a spot??

Wel better get going and get to work. You all have a great day, hope its a good game.

Chief your right about one thing and that is the direction of the wind, but YOU need to face west, not east when you are having those explosive urges. Then the problem will be gone. Just remember to get them "s'spenders" tied on a fence, branch or something before you let er go. Or you may end up in Texas. BTW the Chili is only 3 maybe 4 alarm stuff.

Got a new Texas Lucy's opening in the neighborhood, YAHOO!!
