We just got in from my wife’s Outreach program. That was a long drive to Dover, DE and back. It was about 2-1/2 hours down and a little over an hour back. The trip down was during rush hour so we were on the back roads. We actually made great time and had enough time to stop for a half hour on the way down at the Christiana Mall to grab a quick dinner. Coming home it was DE Rt. 1, I-95, I-495, and I-476; most of it posted 65 MPH. Her program went very well. She spoke for about an hour and half to a group of about 15 kids and 10 adults. Something about manatees that the kids love.

My son came home early from school with a temperature of 101.7. He went to bed before we got home so we know he is not feeling well. It seems that there is a bug going around and a lot of kids at his school are coming down with it.

Guess what??? Ran trains this afternoon before going to Dr. All ran good. Got room ready for painting. Will paint tomorrow AM early. Lunch meeting and then one at 2PM. Got another at 4 PM. Tes 4 PM in Raleigh. Only the DA Mayor of Raleigh would schedule a meeting at 4 PM and Friday. Well, what do you expect from a lawyer? [swg] BTW: Raleigh is now the 49th largest city in the USA. Bypassed Minneapolis MN. All the Yankees moving down here. Jim F, you are not at the Holiday Inn Convention Center are you. One of my favorite hotels in the USA. Great staff and good breakfast [free for me]. Easy to bypass the tourists and get to the BPS. Will miss that one this year as not going to work Orlando BPS. Great store. Good night all.

Morning all. Ferocious weather this morning. I made it to the office though I don't want to go outside again. Probably 10 inches of snow and it still continues. Of course school isn't cancelled. Glad your family made it, Brutus! Did you all see the new Lionel catalog?

A John Bull for Brutus. A Kinlet Hall (GWR) for me. A NS Tank Train for Chief and I'm only on pg 20. All sorts of colorful trains for Alton, Southern. I love the shrouded Dreyfuss Hudson. Check it out!

Good morning folks

This has been an interesting day already. It was 35 F when I pulled, I mean slid out of the driveway this morning. The roads in my neighborhood were icy particularly at the intersections. Once I got out to the main roads it was just wet and slow. I kept one eye on the temperature as it bounced from 33 to 35 F the whole way into work. One of my co-workers got into an accident this morning when someone slid into him. Our high today is supposed to be around 50 F with heavy rain. We could get 1 to 2 inches of rain today and tonight.

My son is home from school. Just as I was ready to head out the door he got up and vomited a little. I had to help him get things cleaned up and comfort him. Ironically he was at the doctors yesterday for a regular check-up and they said he had a touch of something. Now I have to call and let them know it is a little more than a touch.

We have a busy scout weekend. Tonight we set-up for the Pinewood Derby. Tomorrow is the Pinewood Derby. Later in the day my daughter has softball clinic and basketball practice. On Sunday she has a basketball game.

If I ever get to the work bench I would like to finish weathering the TOFCs and other flat cars.

I hope everybody has a good day.

HI GIZ,
No school for me today YEAH!!. Spent morning in train room putting down ballast. Looks good. I used those crushed English walnut shells, put down construction paper kept it in place with thumb tacks, used 50-50 mix of elmers glue and water brushed on paper. Then sprinkled shells over glue, took elmers glue and added more water in dishwater soap container and sprinkled mixture over shells to keep it down permantly. The added black paint to the elmers glue and water sprinkled this on top of shells for coal color, looks good. Thinking of going back down and working on road now?
B safe.

I feel like I am neglecting you guys but I have to type fast and post - I figured out that if you stay on the same page for more than a few seconds without any actual "activity" this wireless router at the hotel kicks you off?! So, I just have to type like crazy, hit post, and keep moving! It's wearing me out!

Ozzy - EXCELLENT NEWS! If you were going to have cancer, then having it be gone is the best kind to have!

Wife got call from work at Epcot and her co-worker who is covering for her while she is here in Orlando died in her sleep!!! What a shame, no idea what it was or anything. They sent in a crisis team and that's all we really know, but people from work keep calling her to make sure she knows about it and stuff. What a real shame to die so young, I think the lady was in her 50's. She was on some weird diet and only ate raw veggies in a blender or something?

Prayers for her family.

Sir James, Root Beer is flowing like a river down here, so come on down!

Doug, thanks for the headsup!

Chief, I'm at a different hotel - it's pretty nice and the people here are very pleasant. Free breakfast at least M - F, not sure on the weekend? Included GRITS 3 days this week, so I think you would feel at home. Other day was biscuits and gravy and 1 day I wasn't here for breakfast so don't know...

Sir James: Not much snow...Maybe 3-inches. Not 6-10 as predicted! County did a GREAT job of clearing the roads. Docs this am were at Domino's Farms. ALL the walks are heated..no snow to walk thru. Very impressive. We were fortunate to park by the building.

Brutus: Prayers for your Wife's co-worker, and her family. I saw some new video being peddled on the TV...'Lots and Lots of Trains'...not sure how good it is, but they did show footage of the BFofC. Available at Amazon, pre-order.

Kurt

Evening all,

Started out today in the 20's and then moved up to 50's :thumb: Nice outside, but windy again.

Ozzy - that is good news for you!

Jim - glad you are having a great time in FL - and Grits too!sign1

Doug - yep - help her fill them out and then help her take the apps into the shops! It shouldn't be long before she gets some interviews. This is a good time to find somethnig. If she waits too long the kids looking for summer jobs will start taking the good positions. And oh yeah - all that stuff about dressing nicely and being able to hold a conversation with the interviewer - while smiling - counts.

Have a great day all!

Yep Roy, Grits galore! After Dennis' kind southern hospitality and this steady diet of grits and fried pork products for breakfast, I think you and Chief might have a new convert soon. How many more do you need before you get the toaster oven?

Doug - what page was the Thomas stuff on in the CTT?

Kurt, feeling better?

Okay SJ -- Gonna go reclinerize with my CTT until family picks me up, so TTFN guys.

well a great relaxing day got taxes done only paying in $302.00 a lot less than I thought but had some good deductions so I'm good to go. happy with that .

Well spent most of the day just relaxing so we went out to eat at Ryans for dinner.
