Morning all. Everything electronic is working squirrelly today - Blackberry is down due to a network outage; printer heads are clogged, CTT is v. slow, and we're due for seven more inches of snow. Think it's all a sign not to try to do taxes today ;)

Morning. Busy afternoon. Dr's apt after I visit Town Hall. Got to paint the room upstairs. Meeting tomorrow at lunch, right afterwards and then at 4. BURR. Kurt, wife had the same thing but fever too. I just had pneumonia. Going around I here. The other one you really do not want. Seems there is one here that does "the tummy thing". Have a good one.

Doug, How can you mention that word so early in the day & year. I don't even think about it until at least the first of March, actually I don't get everything I need until March 15th anyway. Since I always owe money I don't rush things.

Jeffrey, Funny how things work out as far as kids and grandkids. The one we had the most trouble with as a child and teenager, now has the two best disciplined and well behaved teenagers of all of our grandkids and she ended up married to a baptist minister. And we are happy that none of our grandchildren have become real problem children, just drive their parents up the walls at times.

And a good morning to everyone, weather here is sunny and cold, with some nasty stuff to arrive over night to make the morning commute a little interesting tomorrow.

CNW1955, I hear you on the snow front. Us Chicagoans have had a pretty wacky winter so far. While we haven't had a ton snow in terms of inches dropped, I really can't remember a recent winter where we have had SO MANY snowfall events at this point in the winter. It seems like I am shovelling a couple inches of snow off my driveway every other morning. If I had to guess, I would say we have had someone in the neighborhood of 20+ snow events already this winter. Last winter we were lucky to have had 5 or 6 snow events by now. Normally we would get a good 6-8 inch snow, and then nothing for a couple weeks. Not this winter!

And don't even get me going on the 50+ degree temperature drop we had on Tuesday this week...in a matter of about 5 hours!

Sorry John ;)
Mike, why do we live here? Supposed to get up to 7 inches tonight. I guess it's for all the rail crossings - at least we don't have mudslides, forest fires and fire ants. Off to pick up the daughter from h.s. (She is without driving privileges lately). I'm going to suggest she work on getting a job this afternoon. ;)

Afternoon all from blustery N Texas!

High today was at midnight I think and temps dropping all day. 41 right now. Wind is gusting pretty hard from the nawth this afternoon.

Doug - you need to do what we did and as we were advised by good friends with older kids. Take you daughter to the local mall (or whereever you think she should work) and start filling out applications while she is there. Take all the info you need (SS#, etc.). If you leave it to her she probably will not do anything as this is quite foreign to a youngster. While you are at each place you can also find out what days they interview and you can find out their policies on HSers (i.e. our daughter is prop manager for the Spring musical and cannot work this week and coming weekend due to rehersals and the musical). You do not want her to get fired in the first few weeks because she has a school event she must attend. You also need to be clear on the days Spring Break occurs if you go out of town as a family. Make sure she is part of this. Fill out apps at a lot of places so she can pick the place that has the best blend of some fun along with decent pay (about $6.50 - $8 per hour down here) for their age. If it is a place where she works late (as our daughter does due to closing the store at 9 pm), make sure they have well lighted parking or even an escort service (mall security at where our duaghter works) available if needed (if she has to walk out alone).

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Thanks, Roy. I appreciate the insight. I've been taking her places where she's picked up apps and leaving her to follow up. Bad idea I see now.

Hmmmm...............When I was in Highschool we had a program ran by PIC privet industry council where students got job coaching and interviewing skills and then were sent to employers for summer jobs at the end of school year, I got to work with the Bus(city) company working as a printers helper in my senior year fun job learned a bit of good knowledge from that experience now if I could improve my spelling.:nope:

Spent my lunch hour today talking to a lovely young lady, about 23 years old, about The Lord of the Rings, books versus movies. Oh, it was out by the pool again. Remind me to try to get refresher TPSS TC training next year, LOL!

I hear Chief sent Snohio to MO and my wife and kids are at the airport right now trying to get a flight out. I hope they aren't delayed too much. Really do miss my family when I'm away.

Think somebody got the wrong train here . Think I would be hoping that it would start going in the other direction real quick.

rt- the more I look at that picture, the more I wonder what the story is. It doesn't look like an old photo but could be from anywhere.

I think its just some photo that some one made and cropped it in to this . Its a cool looking photo thou.

Well I think ebay has finally done it its got all kinds a people upset this time. expect to see a lot less sellers . new rules comming in may

Sellers can not leave neg feedback period only buyers can.

Lowered listing fees by $.15 to $4.00 but raised the final value fee 3.5% for first $25.00 and another .5 % for over that to $1000.00

The community area is hot with talks of out of here lol I'll wait and see. what happens.

Family landed okay in Orlando, running about an hour late I think. She's getting the rental car and will call when they are on the way. Finished watching the Great Layouts shows. Never get to watch them at home and finished just in time, I guess?!

I always think that one is funny, RT. I think you are right about ebay, but a lot of times I do think that the sellers are in the driver seat there if they wait to post feedback, they can blackmail the buyers. I guess it works both ways? Sounds like ebay is getting greedy.

rt -they will grunt and groan but they will stay.some are already padding their take buy overcharging for shipping. I'm a fussy shopper, if anything does not look right,I pass. but I have the advantage of local stores. some don't. Ive also had sellers that did not leave feedback, that should be fixed also. We know there's good and bad things about the bay, caution is the key word.
Brutus if your still there; did you get the root beer?
