Hey "N", do you think we need to "redo" another caboose? Software seems to be getting slower. Takes it a long time to roll over to the page you select.

Good morning folks

It was 34 F as I rolled out of the driveway. Luckily I did not encounter any icing. Just to the west of where I live they were having a lot of trouble with icing on bridges this morning. The high today is supposed to be 45 F. Then the bottom falls out and by Sunday we will be in the deep freeze with highs in the mid twenties and the lows may drop into the single digits.

No modeling last night. I did put away some cars that have been sitting on the layout and straighten a few things up on the layout. We spent some of the evening getting the lights off the Christmas and the tree out to the curb. We now have to go get a couple more storage bins because we somehow collected more decorations then we have bins.

Not much planned this weekend. The wife has to work a few hours on Saturday.

I would like to work on the weathering trailers for TOFC that the decks are weathered. I also have a couple more flat cars that need their decks weathered. I also have several RTR TOFCs to weather and a couple of other flat cars also.

Morning all,
Got called in for yet another emergency. Finished up about 0630. This is taking a serious toll on my layout building process! Kurt, be carefull of all that "Toot-Toot" stuff, I believe it is the mating call of the elusive Northern Buckeye....A rather tenacious vermin!
Perhaps I should have gotten the DCS system instead of Legacy. It would be better for these mind numb moments when I don't want all the best technology, just make the trains go in circles..(sorry, that was for John's benefit)...just kidding.
spoke with bride before she left this morning, supposed to be cold yankee weather this weekend. While I will still be on call, we have no plans, so I hope to get a good bit of layout work, and doll house work done. May y'all have a blessed weekend.

Laz is counting school days, I just count the days till march.Haven't counted yet still too many. I just put a shot of clearcoat on my F3 shell to set the decals from oopses. sunny, windy and cold 19 here in Detroit area deep freeze tomorrow and sunday. Have a safe weekend......Sir James

The lamp socket is fastened to a metal knock out closer and that is inserted in the back of the building and holds the lamp in place.

John - The metal bases remind me of the houses in San Francisco, where they have large bolts that run from house to house for earthquake protection. I believe they do something similiar to the buildings in New Orleans, down in the French Quarter.

Didn't get my 15 minutes in last night, wifes family came over then dinner, the night was shot. Don't have to work the week-end so should have some time for train room. Hopefully get track secured on shelves, and MAYBE shelves filled. Thinking about putting up Chris' John Deere collection on seperate shelves under the elevated track. Then with all that stuff cleared out of the way back to the wiring.

Chief - "spoon"??? I don't stir the pot, just left handed.

Should be a quite day at work, labeling cartridges all day, UGH ! (All the time spent on school, then spend the day labeling cartridges, keeps me humble)

Morning all. Back from the eye surgeon - still good - he used a new toy to take some neat picture of the back of the eye. Can't wait for that bill. He wants me to go to eye doc for new glasses, because I'm not seeing as well out of it. I don't notice.

John F - what evocative photos of the land-in-snow. I randomly light the ceramic buildings. But using a lower voltage would be brilliant. I tried to make a bulb shield last night - and tried to figure out how to mask or paint the innards. No go on each.

Brutus - I just went down to Powells last week - a used-book wonderland - all kinds of railway books. I actually saw Railway Adventure and thumbed through it -it's on my list to buy - I think you'll like it - a look at the Talleyn (sp?) Railway - a narrow-gauge slate road that was one of the first preserved roads in Britain.

David (60103), thanks for the idea about the Scenic Express tacky glue! I found a chart of lamp codes for the post-Grouping era which I am trying to puzzle out.

Kurt, I know the Burro is powered - does the crane spin and move up and down?
