Ha ha, that’s awesome! What’s the current price on unobtainium now-a-days? I know gold’s floating around 800USD/oz and iron is at 50USD/ton.

I may have switch commodities.

Wow Mike, layout looks awesome! I have always just passed up this thread for some reasson after seeing the first page. VERY glad I stopped in and saw the rest. What did you do to weather the mine structure? It is AMAZING! And also, I love how well the backdrop and the layout blend together. But the scenery in general is some of the best Ive seen.
That is some first class model railroading.:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

New Structure for the ACTRR

Thanks Kevin glad you stopped in and thanks for the kind words.
Here is what can be done to the ,ever popular and usually free, Bachmann coaling tower. I moved the staircase , added bracing to base, made handrails (won't do that again), modified coal chute, added cables and rings and weights, and builders in scale tin roofing. A considerable amount of work to make a structure the ACTRR will soon schedule for destruction due to dieselization.

Beautiful work. I've got two of those to get done. One is half finished in HO scale and the other, I have not even started yet in N scale.

Why would the ACTRR get rid of it? couldnt they put a fuel tank in the top and run hoses down through the chute? It would be the ultimate in gravity-fed loading.
