Afternoon all!

Spankybird: That's one nice layout!

Ozzy: Bummer. But it has a nice view! Can you claim squatters rights on a local road?
Seems like it would be easier to build a new bridge around the house, or turn the house into a new covered bridge.

Ozzy, that bridge thing could only happen in OHIZO. Warm afternoon. Spent all afternoon cleaning up downstairs and upstairs. Got wife's Santa's, snowmen and women and angels stored in attic. Stored a few engine boxes up there too. About all the boxes I keep now. Got to get some boxes taped and addressed to Tom P [Spankybird]. More items sidelined to box and ship. Interrupted with EMS problem. Mayor's job never takes a vacation. wall1 Hungry. Snack time as wife is off shopping now and called to say she was cooking when she gets home. wall1:curse:

Good evening. Back hurts from having camera duty for both services. I like doing it, but would rather do lighting. Was a good day with the family and after this post, do some reading and head for bed. Nice to see the photos. Chief, I think you are getting a reputation as a problem solver... will keep you busy for awhile.
God Bless,
Dennis

Brutus, I know there are a few train stores in the Orlando area. If you can, check them out and please post a report as I will be down there the end of this month. Chief may have some insight from his many trips to the Orlando BPS.
thanks,
dennis

Hey Dennis, I'll be there the very end of the month, first week in Feb. I was hoping someone would know where to go. I'm a little leary of just picking stores from the internet/phonebook as I understand there are some bad areas around there you don't want to visit. I was hoping the family could come visit over the weekend, but doesn't look like it now. I might ask when I'm at the hotel and see if they have anyplace the recommend. I suspect this will end up being like all my trips to Washington - get off work, go out to eat with folks from work, then back to hotel and just watch tv or read. I'm still thinking about getting a cheapo laptop that would be good enough for internet or watching dvds. We'll see.

Orlando and trains stores has not matched for me. None near the BPS and Holiday Inn Convention Center. I think there my be one biggie that does a lot of on line stuff. I think it has a lot of MTH. Emailed the owners while I was there. Did not have my item [NS] in stock.

Off to bed. Good night all.

Good morning folks

It is 43 F and supposed to be going up to 60 F today. Strange weather as we were in the teens three days ago. I am not in the office today as I have several field views today so I will be on the road most of the day.

We had a fun day at the Philadelphia Zoo Open House. We got to tour several behind the scenes parts of the zoo including the new Big Cat Falls, and the Hospital. I also did a few small jobs around the outside of the house.

I had a rough modeling weekend. On examining the coil car covers I realized the weathering was all wrong so I had to remove it. Since I use acyclic paints that meant a bath in soapy water for them. Of course I broke a few parts and had to repair them. I also began renumbering one of the TOFCs.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good Morning All from NE Ohio
where the temp is 56 deg and headed to 65 deg. Time for another Beach Party on the North Coast! :roll1:

Tom, that layout is really great, is that Ross switches? Ozzy, I'll bet Buckeye has a few things to tell us about that bridge, LOL! Man, this would ruin your whole day! Need to call Orlando hotel and confirm my room for the training.

Any good train stores in Orlando?

Brutus - the switches are made by Curtis, these are some of the last ones he made. Ross looks and perform the same.

There is a toy train museum or club in the Orlando area that you should check out. Some of the guys on the OGR forum belong to it.

Here is a pic of the 671 from the electronic set running (see my post on the O gauge part of the forum)

Raining and in the upper 30's, sure hope it stays that way. Lost a great deal of snow this weekend but there's still enough on the driveway and lawn to make it interesting.

Chief--are we going to have to listen to you whine about a job you chose to do for how many years  ? I don't recall anyone forcing you into your current predicament :p What the heck are you going to do once the weather turns nice and the fish call your name  I can you tell you one thing for sure, the NEXT time I retire I'm really going to do it, throw my cell phone in the river, sell the computer, get an unlisted phone number and move to Alaska or SW Colorado bounce7

Morning from a grey and warm Chicago - can't remember a January day in the high fifties. Thank You global warming. Wanted to walk down to Powell's used books at lunch but the President is going to visit a few buildings away - guess I'll be stuck in here.

I didn't know Orlando had any iffy areas - I thought the Mouse owned most of it.

I was re-reading Fife's layout article on the commute in - what a nice layout!

Had an enjoyable evening running trains with the youngest. He keeps wanting to stop James, Thomas, et al for a quick chat. LOL.

Morning everyone. Brutus, we may be there at the same time. I will be arriving the night of the 24th and stay till the 31st. We are staying at the Contemporary, on Disney. Perhaps we can hook up. As to train stores, one promissing one is Colonial Photo and Hobby, 634 North Mills (407)-841-1485. They advertise that thay are one of Florida's largest train and hobby stores. They aslo say that they are authorized Lionel and MTH repair center. As to bad areas, I know that they have a lot of problems with gangs, but that the press does not report it as it would be bad for tourism.

It is a good day at work. Only one case and it isn't mine. Have some phone calls to make and get ready for our trip. Hope everyone has a blessed day.

When everyone was asked to volunteer.... the rest took a "step back" -- chief forgot....:eek::eek::eek::eek:
