Mystere

Hi Paragon,
it seems to be impossible to get a bottomview of the Mystere; I´ve asked in several Forums without any result. The only thing I`ve found is a building report on plastic which gives a view; yes I know not much helpfull, only an imagination!
Dassault Mystère IV A - High Tech

Don`t care about if the Mystere is not working............

Though a new suggest: similar in construction to your excellent Vautour: the Illyuschin IL-28
perfect views: þÅÒÔÅÖÉ
and perfect camo: Ilyushin Il-28

only a suggestion:mrgreen:

BTW: you´ve reached the same step as Trotskiy and Ojimak, and it would be great if you have your own homepage, think about Fiddlersgreen....

Not far from 2008: wish you a happy, succesfull and healthy 2008

I finally found something that might help with the bottom. Hopefully I can get the perspective as if it was head-on, and copy the lines.

Here's the result of my tracing the instruction image in the post above:

This should be enough for a decent model, which I should have a prototype of sometime today.

Finally, some progress to show! Sorry for all the procrastinating. Now that I've finished Galactica, my brother is going back to school, and things are settling into the same old monotony, you can expect more models. Anyway, here you go, pictures of the completed Mystere prototype!

Edit: a little news, I just finished designing the prototype of the BV P.212, and should have that constructed soon. The Mystere went together with almost no problems (I forgot a few tabs) so I should be able to begin coloring it tomorrow. Hopefully the P.212 will be similar in that regard. I'll post pictures when I've finished the prototype build.

Se ve muy elegante y aerodinamico

Translation from Spanish:

It looks very slim and streamlined.
Jolly good job Paragon!!
We hope it will carry many of the colorful schemes both in French as Israelian service.

More progress to show, this time on a different aircraft:

You may notice that the first pictures do not include the two fins on the rear fuselage; these parts are optional, they would probably have been included in different variants of the P.212.

Both, Mystere and the Blohm &Voss look very impressive, and both will be an eye candy in every collection.
Which recources did you find for the Blohm&Voss ?

Someone e-mailed me a very helpful drawing, though I can't remember who it was...

Anyway, I just finished one colored version of the P.212. I'm going to make another, and then I'll make at least one version of the Mystere.

Mystere and B&V

I`m currently building the Mystere and the B & V side by side, it works very well!
I am impressed with the surface of the Mystere, shadows and differences, well done.......
Do you use something new?

Thank you a lot Paragon:thumb:

They look very nice! I see you decided not to use intake and exhaust parts for the Mystere, any reason for that?

yes, the reason is the small scale; I build the planes using 80g/m²paper, here it`s the normal paper for copies, to double it gives problems by shaping the tubes in this small diameter; I only double the wings
Intake and exhaust I paint with water colours, not with every single model, but if I`ve ten or so, though the Myster has to wait some days/weeks

Ok, today marks the first occurance of what may be a new habit of mine. As Edi noticed with the Mystere model, the texture gives a much better impression of shape, as well as the bare metal texture the plane is supposed to have. This is somewhat new in my models. I've used gradients plenty, but the DC-10 project saw some changes in my work, which included attempting to mimic the look of shiney metal with flat printed color (a futile effort in the end, but I think I found a happy medium). Before that, I had only used one grey to simulate this, and I found it severely lacking.

So now I've gone back, and revised my most popular model, the English Electric Lightning, using this new technique, and the end result is quite pleasing, if I do say so myself. Look out for re-texturing of many other of my aircraft, including the F-86, MiG-15, F-105, Su-7, Su-9, etc.

I'm also considering a second version of the Lightning, with full wings instead of flat stock stuck together, also like my more recent models.

Let me know how much you guys want this, or if you want me to go ahead and move on to other projects. Also, let me know what models you all want next. I'm still working on the Yak-25 and Su-56 textures, but those won't take long.

to be honest, I would prefer a going ahead, because your older designs are all without any doubt very good looking; it`s quite normal to improove technicssign1
But the decision is yours, and I will go with it.

New models, hmmm, a lot....
IL-28
Canberra
Handley Page Victor
Avro Vulcan
Super Etendart
I think a lot of them saw active service

and again Thx for the wonderfull Mystere:thumb:

I think you should continue to develop new models. Perhaps you could just go back to ealier models once in a while to improve them (if you really think they need it). Personally I like them very much. They can be very quick and pretty nice builds as they are, or I can spend an extra day or two making subtle little details myself. Sometimes I find that better in some models.
For instance: some of you may have had the short pleasure of downloading the "Ultra-Realistic" Warhawk fighter from the game of the same name. I did, and I still cannot get myself to sit down and start on it. It is almost too detailed for me. And trying to reduce the amount of detail in some models is simply to exhausting.
As for simple appearance of the textures, I say go for it if you can.
Paragon, your models are always very nice, and fun to build.
Thanks very much for your efforts, and your awesome airplanes.

Just a quick update, the Su-56 "Mini Flanker" has been uploaded, and is awaiting approval. I'll post images as soon as I finish the build as well.

I appreciate the fact that you actually go back and improve some of the older textures but I rather agree with the previous friend: More emphasis on new designs...

And since we are at it, I would love to see models of : Su15 Flagon, F84F,F84G,RF84F, C27 SPARTAN and Be200.
