Here are the results of my attempts to add front couplers to Percy and Thomas - even though I measured, Thomas' is a bit lower than I intended but it still works:

Now to more serious business. I have been looking for two months for a bridge to match my existing bridge. I am looking for a Lionel Extension Bridge, No. 6-2122. Photo below:

Normally this bridge can be purchased for around $20 -30 depending on the condtion. If you would see one of these in a LHS or on the web please give me a shout. I have a saved search on EBAY and CHOO-CHOO auctions, but as of this date, no success.

Buckeye, I have one of these bridges, still in the box. The problem will be finding it. It's boxed up somewhere with some other train stuff at my parents' house. The next time I get the chance, I'll look for it. If I can find it - it's yours.

I believe Selector is bogus, remember what Bob K. said about him last time? Me thinks Selector had been in the Mad Dog a bit too long .

Buckeye--no, I was not born in a barn but did originate in NW Iowa where 10 degrees would be considered quite nice  Perhaps you are getting soft as your years increase, next thing we know you will be living next door to Chief

Jon

Jon...The thing I can't believe, if Selector chooses to shut down a posting, even if nothing is wrong, he can do it. I don't see anything wrong with this posting and he shut it down. Re: Would it be OK for some of you to check out my E Bay listings? - Trains.com Forums

Next door to the Chief??? It will be a cold day in Hell, Michigan when that happens.

Been working on all of my Murphy law problems today. How does one family create so much havoc?

Good afternoon folks

I am just getting on the computer now. We have been bumming around the house since we got up late. We celebrated New Years with the kids. They enjoy wearing their New Years hats and making noise at midnight.

We had clear skies last night so we finally got the telescope out and tried to use it. We had limited success. We did see Mars. I spent some time this afternoon fine tuning it. If it is clear to tonight we will try again.

The pork is in the oven and the Mummers Parade is on the TV in the background. The parade started three hours late due to rain which means we should be watching the string bands during dinner.

Everyone is watching TV and relaxing. The kids are in the third day of building Lego castles that my son got for Christmas. I am about to head downstairs and sneak in some modeling.

Happy Birthday Laz!

I hope everybody has a good evening and New Year.

Looking at it from a Moderator/admin point of view.. it's a potential flame waiting to start... All it would take is someone to get on him a bit too hard... and he would go on the defensive instead of the "receiving constructive criticism" idea

As soon as that happened - he would be taking the spell check and punctuation comments in a negative mindset... then it would be him against the ones that were ganging up on him.....

The thread would - most likely - have been locked here too.... if not - totally deleted... Which brings us to Selector's "general" post... he may be doing his moderator stuff and getting complaints from those people who actually "wear' post counts as a badge...

Oh well..... :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

All outside Christmas is down and under garage for WIFE to put up. She jumps in the car with her buddy and goes shopping while I did all of that. 4,000 feet of drop cord rolled and stored. 3,000 feet of lights out of shrubs and over doorways. 400 lighted deer, angels, bells and 100 wreaves. Well, it seemed like it. Lighted train is off of the back roof and lighted frosty is off of the front roof. Took belt and drove Pam into kitchen when she got back. [how many believe that?] Blackeyed peas, ham biscuits, fresh turnips and cabbage. Time to eat as I only had a Bojangles Chicken biscuit at 9:30 AM. LATER!!!!!!!!!

LAZ hope you are having a great birthday. edw has one too.

I guess his (selector) use of verbage just seemed so out of place and the timing of the post seemed odd. Maybe Bob K. will chime in during regular business hours tomorrow.

Man oh man, Michigan is giving this game away, literally. I really don't care for either team but I care less for ANY Florida team. It's their cocky attitudes that annoy me.

It's all O gauge, primarily MTH but with several Lionel and K Line structures and cars. It's our first permanent layout and I couldn't/didn't give it much attention until I retired. It was a team effort with my wife and it took about two years to complete, we rarely worked on it from April through October and I'm sure you understand why as you live in Iowa. If we can be outside we are.

I made a video a year ago with the help of my oldest son, it will give you a good idea of what we have. Several here have seen it and I'm still proud of it. I'd like to tear it all down and start over and do one more now that I kinda know what I'm doing, maybe in one more year. My next one would really focus on a logging operation in the big room with at least two raised levels. In the long narrow room it would be mostly industrial with a subway, and a nice trolley line which we already have. I'd also like to find a way to incorporate slot cars but that's probably not going to happen in this house and I don't see us moving.

Here's the video, enjoy. I especially like the music

More projects: Cut off the cupola on the bobber caboose from the Thomas the Tank freight set to make it look like more of a brake van; then glued just its roof on. Took off the end ladders. The car rolled off the bench and broke a coupler. Rats.

For some reason, the roof for the Downtown Deco burger stand is far too small; I probably put the walls wrong. So I'm building a roof support lattice out of scrap wood. After it dries, I'll put the roof in the middle and the tarpaper (black construction paper) on top. That' should work. I'll paint it someday when the youngest is abed as I'll be using 'his' paints. ;)

Good evening,

Had the usual New Year's Day meal here, roast pork, sauerkraut & mashed potatoes.

Lazy day, watched a little football, watching Rose Bowl now. Had hoped that Illinois would make a game of it, doesn't look like it.

Time to put the Christmas train cars away till next year and get something out that hasn't run for a while or something new.

Doug M., Now you can use Thomas and friend as switchers.

Buckeye, It looks like you asked the right crowd about your bridge problem.

Ozzy, Congrats to your wife on the test.

Kurt, You may keep all the snow out there, I've had enough to last me a lifetime.

Guess I'll have to take a peek elsewhere and find out what you guys are talking about. One forum keeps me busy enough.

Guys, don't let Jon fool you. This is a case that his wife DID help him. :thumb:
Fed the deer. About 9 or so. Hungry as it is turning cold fast. Into the 20's tonight. High tomorrow is Yankee temps, 40. Wife and I are watching Christmas movies on LMN. She listened to Chirstmas music on XM 103 all the way to Wilmington yesterday and all the way back today. I guess 103 will go away tonight. ????
