'Morning, all! Cool, but not as cold as last two mornings. No frost today. Should get up into the 60's by late afternoon. One more Christmas party to attend this evening. They're fun, but I'll be glad to stay home tomorrow night.

Waiting on a couple of train purchases to arrive - a Williams/Bachmann GM&O GP-38. Also ordered a Beep power chassis from RMT to power a kit-bashed, center cab Beep I won on Ebay a while back. It was built by a regular on the OGR forum. Once I get it painted and on the chassis, I'll post some pics.

Hope those of you traveling over Christmas/ New Years have safe journeys!

A quick good-morning from a turning-sunny and slightly-warmer Crystal Lake - is it bad form to post some photos here? My work yesterday.

Good morning folks

It was 34 F as I pulled out of the driveway this morning. We are on our way to 45 F. It looks like we will be in the 50’s by the weekend. I guess we won’t have a white Christmas this year. Hopefully it won’t rain.

I continued weathering the flat car decks.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good Morning All from NE Ohio
Where the temp is 39 deg with overcast skies.

Chief and Frank53 - It's getting to a point that I only post on the SPH over there and this past week, I'm not sure if I even what to do that anymore. Isn't this part of having fun - like playing with our trains. When it stops being fun, then it's time for a new hobby.

Buckeye - last night I was looking over the new 2008 NS calender. They really have improved it this year. The first pic on the inside is of Painseville, Ohio. As you know this is only 10 miles from me.

I took these shots last year.

I also noticed 2 other pics of Ohio and NONE in NC.

Good Morning from The Heartlands,

Tom--I would gladly share some of our white so you could enjoy a white Christmas:cool: More often than not we do not have a white Christmas, always kind of disappointing but it looks like this year will be extremely white. I'm going to take the blade off the ATV so I can pull the kids & grandkid over the hills and dales. My wife has quite a few days of vacation to use so her last full weekday of the year is this Friday, she was VERY HAPPY when she left this morning. I have three more long nights of my part time job so on Saturday morning I think there's going to be a celebration around here with Mamosa's:thumb: The forecast was kinda crummy for Friday night when everyone was due to arrive here but now they are starting to backpedal, thank goodness.

I have trains running in three different rooms this year so I'll be curious as to how our little granddaughter will react to that. She's 19 months old now and just a treat, we had two boys and we are really enjoying her.

Time to stop rambling and refill the coffee cup:wave:

HI GIZ,
OK the BIG NEWS is got my LEGACY!!!!!! YEA!!!
The worst thing about the system was the wait for the batteries to charge up. After the charging, I put the module chip in for the BB,. Transfered all the info into hand held and we were off and running. Neat way of starting the BB, you press start up and the voice say I'm going to start this Big BOY up now. Sounded real cool. The other great things are the speed settings for various settings, slow ,med, fast, and high balling. Where the voice comes on and says we are high balling it now, pretty cool. Also with the speed you can see by a graph how fast you're going. The one thing I couldn't find on the new Cab2 was the reverse button. I had to read this and where it is , is a toggle switch on the boost and brake button. You press in on this and toggle the reverse and forward applications. Nice big veiwing screen. I used the throttle, red L knob and really like it. You can feel the steps by way of a little click. All features worked great and the smoke unit for BB works terrific. You press the number 9 key and smoke comes on, press it again and you get the low setting, press again and get the med setting, and again get the high setting. Neato features. Only played with it for about 20 minutes but boy it sure is COOL. As the CHIEF said "IM IN LOVE". ME TOO CHIEF ME TOO.

I'll report later on other stuff I didn't try yet.
THIS IS REALLY COOL!!!!!
I'll be running maybe later but have to do my Christmas shopping for my wife tonite, and its GIZ NITE OUT SHOPPING. Oh boy!!!!!

Tom, agree. Really is good here. Best be asured, the EYES OF TEXAS are upon a person on CTT. That is over there. Lets not spoil it here. Doug, great pictures. Hey is there an O gauge section of questions and answers here? If not, maybe NGauger will set us up one. Then we will not have to visit bad places. Only thing is I hate deserting Keller. He is a great guy.

HI GIZ,
As far as the other forum goes, I still like it I gain some good knowledge there. As far as some GIZ there I just take the advise from YUZ GIZ and ignore them. There are a few that I really don't care for and just shrug my shoulders at. Oh well I guess there is lots that don't like me too. I tell them like I tell my kids in school that say I hate you. Get in line bud get in line.

Agree too. I enjoy the posts of all you guys. A how-to thread is a good idea - in the S/O gauge folder? I haven't quite gotten the hang of how to navigate here yet -

John F, could you share with me where you got the Galloping Goose you posted a photo of a while ago? Is it from MTH? It looks like something that would be cool to customize.

Doug - I believe that the Galloping goose was a 2007 TCA Convention Car, John "may" know if there are any available yet. I think there was a delay with there availability and they just arrived last month. Also there are some MTH ones I've seen on ebay, that were PS-1.
